CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Crews are battling a large fire on Interstate 70.

The fire happened after a crash in the westbound lanes at the 19 mile maker in Clay County.

That’s just west of the Brazil exit.

Indiana State Police say the westbound lanes of the interstate will be closed for several hours.

The cause of the crash and subsequent fire isn’t known at this time.

The smoke from the crash could be seen from downtown Terre Haute.
