Before I explain the facilities provide by Reva, I would like to share my personal experience, after I had completed my 2nd puc and was looking for admission into a good Engineering College.
To get admission in a good reputed college at Bangalore, I visited few colleges, which are Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, S.J.C Institute of technology, M.S. Engineering College, Nagarjuna College of engineering, NITTE Minakshi Institute of Technology, Raja Rajeshwari College of Engineering and at last I visited REVA Institute of Technology and Management.
Then I joined Reva, largely due to the excellent infrastructure, committed faculty, commendable placements and productive co curriculum activities, making it convenient for students to choose from the wide range of courses at both graduate and post graduate levels.
The institute is provided with indoor game facilities like badminton court, table tennis, chess, carom etc. and outdoor facilities like cricket, football, volley ball and basketball court etc. and provided with spacious parking for vehicles. It also has an air-conditioned seminar hall with very good audio-visual facilities. The institute is proud to have state of the art auditorium and amphi theater with well designed acoustics and seating arrangements.
The institute provides high speed wireless networking with latest computers with legal software’s, well equipped laboratory, centrally located library with rich collection of books, browsing centres etc. Various educational CD’S have been postured in the library for the benefit of the staff and the students.

PRINCIPAL:
Like the heart being an essential part of the body, our beloved respected principal Dr Sunil Kumar S.Manvi is an essential part of our Reva family.
He is also the head of the Research and Development Department. Before being the principal of our college, He was the Head of the Department of Electronics and communication engineering for a span of six years. He is the person who is always ever motivating, energetic and supportive to the students.
Programs offered in REVA Campus:
Reva has engineering courses in Computer Science & engineering, Electronics & Communications
Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Information science & Engineering, Civil Engineering;
It also has MBA, MCA, MSc, M.Tech, BSc, BCA, BBM, B.Com, B.Ed. and PUC. The courses are affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Bangalore University and Karnataka Pre University Board.
In Reva, engineering as well as management courses are available, but in other colleges like BMSIT, SJCIT and some other colleges have only engineering. Reva is not only focusing on engineering stream but it also provides management courses, pre university courses, other degree courses like BSC, Biotec, Bcom etc, thereby taking an edge over many other colleges in the state.
LIBRARY
In Reva, the library is centrally located in the campus. The library is well stocked with 32000 books on all subjects, books have been neatly arranged in proper shelves and almirahs. The books have been arranged according to their subjects thus there is no difficulty for the students in finding any of the books of their choice. It also contains 32 titles of learned journals, about thousands of technical reports and 15 kinds of newspaper of several languages. Students can go to the library, select a book of his/her choice and get it issued for a certain number of days. Each student can get 4 books at a time it also has the autobiography of great people wisdom books, Inspiring and aspiring books for the development of students. We can even get the collection of question papers and material of all the competitive exams.
The REVA group of institutions provides IEEE access to the students to get detailed information about the project whereas the other colleges like Sambram institute of technology and management, Sai vidya institute of technology, SJCIT, Brindavan college of engineering, Atria institute of technology and management don’t provide IEEE access.
This library does not only have books but it’s very much spacious so that people can have a pleasant place to read books. The positive point of the library is that it will be opened till mid night and gets opened at early morning 6’o clock, which does not happen in any of the college which we can say proudly. The library also consists of separate seating sections for girls and boys in the evening. But in other collages the library will be open from morning 10am to evening 6pm. Reva institute of technology and management is one of the very few colleges which has a dedicated block only for the library by which it overtakes many other colleges.
Our college library is a well furbished 3 floored building consisting of a digital library, newspaper reading room, and a seminar hall which are equipped with modern facilities for students to study. Compared to other colleges like UVCE and so on, our college has better features than any Other college with respect to the library, that which every Revite is very proud of.
Digital Library
The digital library has been provided with nearly 150 systems and our institute provides high speed wireless networking with latest computers with legal software’s. The systems in the digital library seems to be faster compared to the other systems. The digital library is used by the students and the Staffs to help with their projects and other information to be known .Instead of spending more money on the cyber café , they can use the systems provided in the library without any problems or expenditure.
Being an engineering student who is pursuing his/her respective careers in the engineering field labs are a must for them. It leads them to understand the subjects with better knowledge. Especially in our college, the labs are well equipped with better and high quality facilities. Every department has separate laboratories in each of its respective subjects. Each laboratory is maintained by a separate instructor who is well educated about their respective subjects. Each of the dept contains nearly about 100 to 150 systems.
It also has an air-conditioned seminar hall with very good audio-visual facilities. Most of it is used by the management people for their seminars in their respective subjects. There are about 2 seminar halls for their respective depts. REVA institution provides well equipped laboratories with many components, computers and various machines so that none of the students need to share and can therefore work independently improving his confidence with the subject, when compared to other colleges like Brindavan college of engineering, Sambram institute of technology, Sai vidya institute of technology, Atria institute of technology, Acharya college of engineering etc. where usually shortage of facilities disables the student to work independently and is forced to share the equipments with his classmates. With such facilities our college is one of the fastest growing institutions in the state.
The institute is proud to have state of the art auditorium and amphitheatre with well designed acoustics and seating arrangements. The auditorium is named after the great national poet called “KUPPALI VENKATAPPAGOWDA PUTTAPA ( KUVEMPU)”. It has a seating capacity of a thousand people. Most of the Inter and Intra department cultural activities are held in the auditorium.
INFRASTUCTURE
Reva institute of technology and management is known for its very vast and modern infrastructure. The staffs of the Reva college are provided with very good college quarters with good facilities and amenities in it. The infrastructure of our college is world class and is constantly developing and improving its amenities. The college also has different blocks that are for different departments such as civil engineering block, mechanical block, and science block for the PU and degree. We have a separate block for the library as well. The main attractions of our college are the administrative block, the laboratories, classrooms, library and its beautiful lawns maintained in perfect conditions.
Main Block
We have very spacious parking lots for thousands of vehicles of both the students as well as staffs. Our college provides bus facilities for the students from different parts of Bangalore. There are nearly about 20 buses functioning every day. Not many other colleges are present wherein bulk of the teachers stay in the staff quarters present inside in the campus which enables the students in the hostel to approach them easily at any time. Even the principal stays in the campus thereby removing the travelling workload.
HOSTEL
Students new to Bangalore normally look for places that are affordable, comfortable and within easy travelling distance of the university. “REVA hostels are a home away from home”. REVA has 6 hostels ( 4 for male students and 2 for female students)on the campus for about 3200 students. These hostels have double, triple bed, spacious, airy, fully furnished rooms with 24 hours assured uninterrupted power and hot water supply throughout the year with attached bathrooms which are situated amidst lush greenery.
The food they provide us is the best food with quality of 100% surety, with different varieties of food every day that is clean and hygienic. REVA group of educational institutions provides the Wi-Fi access to students in the hostel and everywhere in the campus every 24 hours, hence it is easy for the students to access IEEE everywhere in college due to this people from different parts of the world are attracted towards this institution for their bright future.
Also Reva hostel provides a 24/7 medical help with doctors available all the time which consist of clinic and a medical store attached to it. The hostel is provided with several stationary shops, and bakeries for the benefit of hostel students. The Reva hostel consists of both north Indian cuisine as well as south Indian cuisine provided for the students who have come from all parts of India. There is also a separate block for students from overseas countries. The rooms of the hostel are well maintained from time to time by the supervisors.
Discipline/security of the students is ensured through well-organized system of in-house warden and sub-wardens. They ensure that the students are monitored thoroughly and the security is never compromised. Not many colleges in the state house as many students in hostel as our college does, thereby making it ‘home away from home’ quite literally. The hostel facilities remove the very tiresome travel workload in the metropolitan city that Bangalore is. The vast number of rooms in the hostel encourages students to admit themselves into our college thereby taking a huge leap forward compared to most other colleges in the city.
CANTEEN
The canteen is actually located at the entrance of the college wherein a variety of South Indian and North Indian dishes are available.
A college canteen is a place where the students take light tiffin. One can also enjoy a wide range of cold drinks. ‘A college canteen is a part of college life’. We cannot think of our college life without our college canteen.
The importance of college canteen begs description. It is a very important part of the college where the students can have food from the canteen at short notices in their hectic schedule. Besides, it also assures hygienic food when we most require it. Some students have to come to the college from far-off distances and can take some refreshments here. Even the students who stay in the hostel come to canteen to have a change in their daily routine. It has other importance where it becomes a meeting place and a place to have a party as well as to have loads of fun. When students become bored they tend to relax in the canteen having some refreshments. It has a relaxed atmosphere where in students can have quiet breaks between classes and review their notes and a nice place to hang out with friends.. Thus it satisfies both their monotony and hunger. Students come and sit here to have a peaceful time
Students rely much on college canteen rather than home. It is. a reliable source for taking food. Most of the times the outside hotels lag in hygiene and the quality of food that is harmful for health. Taking harmful foods from outside hotel or food stalls, students could suffer from different kinds of diseases. As a result, they cannot pay attention to their studies.
There are different kinds of food items that are available in the college canteen. Canteen provides the students with stress busters tea and coffee, biscuits, bananas, bread, samosa, all kinds of parota and cool drinks etc. Masala Dosa is the special breakfast item in our college canteen which costs about 25 Rs. Our Canteen is furnished with Sufficient furniture, a lot of comfortable chairs and tables are provided here. As a part of the decoration, a bunch of colour full flowers are grown on the side of the canteen. The walls are decorated with nice pictures. Generally, students come to college canteen for taking food. But some of them also pass their time by gossiping. A college canteen is a part and parcel of college life.
SPORTS
Sports and games are essential for many reasons, they not only help us to maintain good health but also foster friendship, good behaviour also helps to nurture good leadership skills. Being interested in games does not mean merely watching other people playing games. They should also participate in sports and games. Every boy or girl should devote at least an hour a day to sports and games. Sports must be given as much importance as academic studies in the college.
Cricket ground
There are different kinds of sports provided namely cricket, basketball, volleyball, football, hockey, kabbadi, carom, chess, badminton etc. There is a well maintained cricket ground in the college where in turf is in process. The college has provided dunking suspension ring to the basketball court. The sports in the college is well encouraged by the physical trainer where in the students have been participating and competing in various kinds of tournament. The Physical trainers called ‘Deepak’ and with ‘Umesh’ are responsible for organising inter department tournaments to find the young talents for the college team. The special thing about this college regarding sports is that we organise a cricket tournament called “REVA PRIMERE LEAGUE”
The other colleges as well as KSCA book our college ground to play cricket for a certain period of time in every year.
Every year in the even semesters. Our college cricket ground is used by the civil engineering students for their surveying lab. As an encouragement to the students physical fitness the college has provided a well equipped gymnasium with the trained trainer to help the students.
Our college compared to most other colleges has one of the biggest sporting fields( playing ground). It also houses two basketball courts, two indoor badminton courts, tennis court, a well equipped gymnasium and a host of various other indoor sports facilities that most other colleges will not be providing at this standard.
CULTURAL EVENTS
Cultural activities help students to become aware of so called intelligence, hidden talents in them which include fun, warm up, cross cultural activities.
Taking part in the cultural activities helps students deal with both the success as well as the failure and develop discipline, develop self-confidence, self –esteem, team building, leadership, social skills, resilience etc.
Hence our Reva gives much more importance for the student and staff to organize various kinds of fests and events in a year namely Ethnic day. On these days we revites come in ethnic wears representing their respective religion. It’s a treat to watch all the Reva family which includes staff on this special occasion so that we can know about different cultures.
The most important cultural event of our college called “REVAMP” is being organized every year in the month of March. The event consists of several rock bands, Jazz bands, Skits, Dance competition,Debates,Mad acts, singing, and various kinds of technical events such as coding and decoding competitions, paper presentations etc. For the game lover they also conduct several online as well as offline games like Need for Speed, Counter strike etc. People of different colleges and of different states come to our college to compete, participate and watch it enjoying them.
So we people can come across different cultures, traditions and religions. The REVAMP will always take place for 4 days, where in each day a new chief guest is invited. For the symbol of unity we revites wear a specially designed T-shirt on that special day.
The special cultural event for the welcoming of new comers called “fresher’s day “ is held for 3 days where in the fresher’s have 3 days of loads of fun. It is the place where the fresher’s get the stage to interact and know better with the senior students . On all the three days, freshers are supposed to wear different kinds of costumes depending upon their dress code of that respective day. On this special occasion Mr/Ms fresher are selected amongst the freshers by conducting different kinds of rounds and judged by the teachers. The REVA group of educational institutions around the Bangalore encourages the people from the other colleges to participate in different cultural activities like cricket, football, throw ball, chess, volleyball, table tennis etc and many other technical events like solving puzzles, technical quizzes, circuit debugging and most of the colleges do the intra college fest but REVA group of educational institutions does the inter college fest every year due to this every year people from different parts of the our country and other countries are trying to get the place in the family of REVA group of institutions around the Bangalore.
We being the part of the Reva family we respect all religious festivals wherein we celebrate Ganesha Chathurthi, Holi, Diwali, Ramzan, Christmas and many more.
With the involvement of students from all over India bringing together various cultures and religions, our college fest easily stands out from all the other colleges making very memorable to all those involved in bringing it to life.
LAWN AND OPEN AIR THEATRE
Opposite to the central library is the green park with variety of trees and bushes and lush green lawn that attracts any nature lover .It’s actually a place for students to study, meet friends, and enjoy the nature. The lawn keeps the environment cool, comfortable and healthy atmosphere. The Open Air Theatre is a place for variety of cultural programmes held in our college. At the time of a very good Bangalore climate the lawn greenery present in the college is at its best.
There are different kinds of trees in our campus namely Mango, Badam, Coconut, and many kinds of medicinal plants in it. The lawn is well maintained by the workers which makes it one of the beautiful sites to see in the Reva campus. Many film shootings have been shot at this venue .This is one of the best place to watch in our Reva college. About 25% of our college is occupied by the lawn, but other colleges try to give the picture of beautiful lawns in the brochure which are not actually present in the college, there are a few colleges without a lawn making it very dull and does not create a healthy atmosphere . There are restrictions to access the lawn by the students in some of the colleges like BMSIT and AIT but not at REVA. Without any competition our college is easily the best looking college in the state.
Many Intra College cultural activities and many other events are held at these beautiful lawns creating a relaxed and fun environment. People who come to this college for the first time they are attracted by the lush green lawn.
