Bangalore which is the capital of Karnataka is known for its greenery, Engineering colleges, MBA colleges and Information Technology sector. Hence the city is known to be the silicon valley of India because of its boom in IT sector. This is one of the major reasons because of which more than 150 plus college has its command in the city. Bangalore city is divided into four parts i.e. the north, south, east and west. Due to the pace of advancement in technology and development and also due to the Kempegowda International Airport in the south Bangalore, it has been a major destination for many companies and institutes. A quite number of Engineering and MBA colleges have started their presence since past few years. One of the famous and renowned among them is the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology also known to be N.M.I.T. It is situated in Govindapura, Gollahalli, Yelahanka, Bangalore and it is a premier Autonomous Institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (V.T.U) and approved and accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E), New Delhi. The institute offers four years of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) degree and various other post graduate programs such as Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A), Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) and Master of Technology (M.Tech).  It is the youngest institute in the nation to get the prestigious autonomous status in the year 2007 by University Grants Commission (U.G.C) and by the State Government of Karnataka. It is also the only unaided private institution in the state of Karnataka which is selected by the Government of India for World Bank Funding in the year 2011. The college is sprawl across 23 acres of lush green campus.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology is a unit of Nitte Education Trust, Mangalore. The Nitte Education Trust comprises of Nitte University and higher institution such as Engineering, Medical, Management etc. and various other school and colleges across the state of Karnataka.  The Nitte Education Trust was founded by Justice Kawdoor Sadananda Hegde along with support of his wife Smt. Meenakshi Hegde in the year 1979 with a vision to ensure and provide quality education to mass people. The major and main mission of the trust is to develop the institute to such an extent through innovation, creativity and quality so that the students can cater or yield maximum benefit out of it. The main and primary vision is to provide technical empowerment and manpower of the institute, world and nation through their highest and excellence class of education.

WHY NITTE MEENAKSHI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY?

Though there might be various other colleges across the Bangalore such as MVIT, Reva Institute of Technology, Atria Institute of Technology, M.S Engineering College, and Brindavan college of Engineering etc some of them have huge campus and infrastructure, some has good academics and placement but in spite of these fact I prefer a college must be well rounded in everything and in every feature, so technically according to me Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology overall all scores very good as compared to these colleges. The syllabus and schemes in the autonomous institute are all common for all branches in the first year which includes two cycles i.e. physics and chemistry cycle and from second year i.e. III semester till VIII semester all are allocated to their specific branch.

The main advantages of one having in autonomous institute are the course flexibility, credit grading education system and the grading is done on a scaling of 10. The tests are divided into two parts of equal weightage i.e. the semester end exam (SEE) and CIE. Also there is flexibility in opting various add on courses throughout the academic session.

The college also helps in providing internship and various other programs during the end of odd semester.

One of the advantage in this type of colleges is that they frame their own courses, conduct test on their own and result the result on due time. The syllabus is framed in such a way that it includes and covers each and every nook of the subjects, yet easy to study. The faculties are well qualified in their fields having many years of experience and so interactive that you get to know about the subjects easily and quickly.

The famous tribute band of “Iron Maiden” that is “Higher on Maiden” played in south India for the first time. In 2015 more than 50 events were scheduled for three consecutive days.

CONCLUSION

The Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology became a hotspot destination of education for both national and international students because of its excellence in academics and various other co-curricular. As it’s far away from the main city it provides a better academic ambience with no distraction from congestions of the city.
