High-end speaker-maker KEF recently announced its new X300A Wireless, a desktop stereo speaker system offering the same performance as the original X300A speakers with the added convenience of wireless streaming via Airplay or DLNA from most Apple or Android devices.

The speakers include Uni-Q drivers, 4 dedicated amplifiers (2 per speaker), 2 discrete high-quality DACs and a high resolution 96kHz/24-bit distortion-free digital USB connection in wired mode. Each speaker is powered by two class AB audiophile-grade amps, one for the LF/MF and one for HF. Because the high frequencies are driven separately from the mid- and low-frequencies, KEF claims the sound is much cleaner at high levels. The X300A’s low noise and excellent headroom and dynamic reproduction are possible because of the audiophile grade linear power supply and toroidal transformer in each cabinet.

To ensure optimum performance, the X300A was designed with the ability to switch between desk, free space and desk/wall modes.
