Come sempre durante il periodo esami faccio un sacco di maschere, e difatti sto di nuovo per sommergervi con un'ondata di recensioni...per ora però vi lascio alla review di una maschera che è già la seconda volta che ricompro (non succede spesso, no?) e che utilizzo spesso...la Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask di Skinfood!

How are you? As usual when I have my exams I use toons of sheet masks, and as usual you will probably see them more often than you should here...whoops! But For now I'm going to talk about a normal mask, one of my favorite, and a repurchase (which doesn't happen very often, let's be honest. This mask is the Black Sugar Wash Off Mask Pack from Skinfood!
Esistono varie versioni di questa maschera wash off, tra cui una alla fragola che io amo moltissimo, una al miele e una al pepe nero. Della linea di maschere Skinfood ce ne sono tantissime, quella al riso, al bianco d'uovo...sono tutte da provare! Purtroppo non trovo più i samples online, ma solo le full size. Benchè mi piaccia moltissimo il packaging molto semplice e "casereccio", la Skinfood le ha repackagiate con una confezione più moderna, ed è presto prevista la versione mini. Comunque questo genere di maschere non ha bisogno di molte cure, non teme freddo o caldo, teme solo l'acqua...quindi cercate di non farci finire l'acqua dentro, o scioglierà i granelli!
There are many versions of this mask, and my favorite is the strawberry one, that I purchased in samples to take it with me when i travel, the honey one, Rice, hot seed, egg white, etc... They're all for you to try, because they're bestsellers! Sadly it's hard to find the samples online, so I haven't found them for you, but I also know that Skinfood made kind of a repackaging and now they're available in mini-capsule mask like the Innisfree ones. I don't know if we're gonna see them but...Oh well. Anyway, this kind of mask doesn't need a lot of attentions, they can be stored wherever, no matter of cold or warm weather...But don't mix it with water, don't wet them. Even if I like the vintage packaging, skinfood made a repackaging as i said, so now this mask looks more "modern".
Non ha per niente un aspetto invitante...sappiamo tutti a cosa somiglia, dai! L'avete pensato anche voi. Ma vi assicuro che il profumo è totalmente diverso...eheh! Ovviamente a suo tempo è stato un concept innovativo, perchè quella che dovrebbe essere una maschera al black sugar è poi anche uno scrub. Essendo maschera e scrub, ovviamente la Black Sugar Wash Off Mask ha dei granelli all'interno, ma comunque è molto cremosa e si stende facilmente senza uscire a macchie o graffiare la pelle. Questa è la principale differenza fra lei ed il facial polish di Klairs; mentre lo scrub si stende molto difficilmente ed i granelli sono anche belli grossi, questa maschera ha una texture molto più liquida e i granelli sono piccoli e meno spigolosi. Non dovete pensare ad una maschera liquida, comunque, perchè come vedete dalle foto è come se fosse uno scrub liquido.
Okay, we kinda figured what it looks like-- You got it. But even if it's not the most esthetically pleasing mask in the world, the smell is sooo good. Obviously when Skinfood came out with this mask it was really something innovative, now it's more common to find products that are multipurpose. It's both a mask and a scrub, so obviously the Black Sugar Wash Off Mask has big and thick granules inside, but it stills spread easily, without being blotchy or scratch the skin. This is the main difference between this mask and the black sugar facial polish from Klairs; the scrub doesn't spread on the skin and it's more grainy, and the grains are more sharpen. Don't think about a liquid mask, though, because it's definitely solid... it's like sugar melted with honey.
Come ho già detto, applicarla è estremamente semplice e il prodotto si stende bene. Anche se vi può sembrare che sia disomogenea sul viso, vi assicuro che le parti più scure sono solo accumuli di granelli di scrub, perchè la maschera è la parte marrone trasparente. Di solito io la uso su tutto il viso, e la lascio in posa per un sacco di tempo (anche più di mezz'ora), perchè l'odore agrumato è piacevolissimo, e non da' la sensazione di occludere la pelle nonostante sia comunque molto pesante come maschera. Dopo un po' la sciacquo via massaggiando, in modo che i granelli facciano il loro dovere ed esfolino il viso. Ovviamente è una maschera che preferisco fare prima delle maschere all'argilla, in modo che poi quest'ultime penetrino bene; in questo caso è meglio non esagerare con esfoliazione, ed è meglio non tenerla su' troppo tempo...Se la usate da sola, potete strafare.
As I already said, it's really easy to apply because it's soft. Even if from my pictures it looks like it's uneven, I can assure you that it's just that there are a lot of heaps of granules, the Black Sugar Mask is kind of "transparent". Usually I like to apply it all over my entire face and let it sit for more than 30 minutes[ even if "20 minutes" it's the standard time for a mask.], mostly because I love the smell (it's kind of and orange smell), and it doesn't give that bad feeling of skin that can't breathe. It's heavy for sure, because of the scrub-like consistency. After sme time I rinse it away, and while I rinse it I massage the beads on the skin to exfoliate, until I washed it off completely. I love to have this mask before clay masks, so that once I removed the first layer of dead cells, the clay penetrates deeply and cleans my pores better. When you use the wash off pack before any other mask, don't overdo.
Questa mascherà dovrebbe essere anche nutriente, ma non lo è abbastanza per la mia pelle, che resta un po' secca in alcune zone (tipo il naso T-T). Per il resto, non apporta particolari benefici dal punto di vista dell'idratazione, ma lascia la pelle liscissima e luminosa, senza arrossament o irritazioni. Fa un ottimo lavoro nell'eliminare la pelle morta e nel lasciare quindi l'incarnato radioso. Onestamente non esfolia in profondità come lo scrub di Klairs, ma quello è molto più aggressivo, quindi -a meno che io non voglia esfoliazione profonda- tendo a preferire questa maschera allo scrub vero e proprio, perchè ritengo più fattibile fare questa due volte alla settimana... la mia pelle sensibile esige molta delicatezza! Un dettaglio che me la fa amare è il profumo, dolce, che sa di arancia/mandarino e un po' di mandorle... sul viso è un profumo caldo e rilassante. Ovviamente non c'è bisogno che specifichi che non ha effetti rinfrescanti o altro, no?
Comunque questa è una maschera fantastica che trovate un po' ovunque, per esempio Ibuybeauti, dove trovate anche gli altri gusti.
This wash off pack should be nourishing, but it's not enough nourishing for my skin, which is still dry affter I wash it off --mainly in my T-zone T-T --. Moreover, I can't see any banefit in therms of moisturization either, but I can totally tell that it leaves my skin smooth and bright, without redness or itchiness. It does a good job as exfoliator, because it removes dead skin cells, making the skin appear more luminous. This mask doesn't exfoliate as much as the Klairs's scrub does, but the latter is slightly more aggressive on the skin. So, when I'm not in the mood or in need of a deep exfoliation, I prefer this mask over the scrub because It's a slightly more mild multipurpose item. I think it's easier to use this mask twice a week, since I have delicate skin. One thing I really like and find relaxing, it's the smell, because I can smell orange & almonds (maybe?)...it's soooo good. Obviously it has no refreshing/cooling feeling.
