Microsoft's next big Windows 8 update has been leaking a lot lately, but yesterday during the Super Bowl it really leaked. You can download Windows 8.1 Update 1 from various file-sharing sites (that won't be named) and install it on your PC right now. This means we can finally confirm some of the features that have been discovered in previous leaks.

It looks like all the changes are present in Update 1. The new title bar across the top of metro apps is present in this build. The title bar makes it easy for mouse and keyboard users to close, minimize, and snap metro apps. The new context menu when right clicking on live tiles is also present, along with the search and power buttons on the Start Screen.

One of the biggest new features has also been confirmed in this build. You can now pin metro apps to the desktop taskbar. When you click on the icon on the taskbar the app doesn't open on the desktop, but the taskbar remains on the screen until you start interacting with the app. It's looking like Update 1 will make Windows 8 much easier to use. We expect it to launch on March 11th.
