Years ago, two friends by the names of Sebastian and Adam met on a recreational soccer team in Washington, D.C. The two bonded over many shared passions, with their love of brewing craft beers on the top of that list. Adam’s background in mechanical engineering combined with Sebastian’s history in outreach, which led them to invent Hank the Beer Tank — A portable kegerator that would allow the owner to bring draft beer to any ocassion.

On June 16th, in an effort to bring Hank the Beer Tank to the masses, the two founders launched a Kickstarter campaign with a pledge goal of $75,000. The project quickly earned the attention of Kickstarter, who made it a company pick. After only 3 days Hank the Tank was already 25% closer to its funding goal. Now, with less than a day to go, the campaign still needs nearly 50% of its original ask to hit its goal and receive funding.

In an effort to encourage funders, the Kickstarter hopefuls have promised a series of prizes including:

$1 donation – get a “cheers” tweet from @Hankthebeertank

$15 – get your name engraved in the original Hank the Beer Tank prototype

$25 – attend the launch party in D.C.

$35 – get 2 customized pint glasses

$50 – get a customized growler

$75 – get 2 pint glasses and a customized growler

$399 – get a block party thrown in your honor (in DC only)

$699 – (fully backed) get your own Hank the Beer Tank

$749 – get a Hank the Beer Tank and 2 pint glasses

$949 – add your own logo to your own Hank the Beer Tank

$1199 – be one of the first to receive a Hank the Beer Tank just in time for football season

$1699 – Sebastian will deliver your Hank the Beer Tank personally to you

The largest price has already received 3 backers and over 30 backers have pledged enough to get their own Hank the Beer Tank once production begins. While it’s unlikely this project will receive enough donations to be funded, it still has extremely large support. Clearly, the founding partners identified an unlikely problem that needed solving.
