What’s the best sports venue in the region? The best food and drink festival? The best heritage spot? The best place to shop? It’s your opportunity to decide with the annual Best of Windsor-Essex survey.
Organized by Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, the online survey opened on Monday and will continue to take votes until 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 26.
Participants only need a valid e-mail address to submit their choices of the top nominees in such categories as favourite “cultural district,” “community art piece,” and “watering hole.”
Rock Bottom co-owner Nicole Sekela says she’s thrilled. The bar’s win for Best Wings last year gave her business a bump.
“I noticed the line for our wings night was quite a bit bigger, and there were a lot of new faces,” she says. “We had so many people who were looking for a reason to come in.”
After the survey closes, those with the most votes will be announced at a press conference on March 29.
All winners will listed in the 2017/2018 edition of the tourism bureau’s official visitor guide, to be widely distributed in April.
Everyone who takes the survey has a chance at a draw prize package with a $500 value — including a night out at some of the top-rated spots in the survey.
