NASHVILLE-AREA FINANCIAL ADVISOR WILL REPRESENT STATE OF TENNESSEE AT CFA INSTITUTE’S GLOBAL SOCIETY LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IN HONG KONG

Phoebe Venable, President and COO of Franklin-Based CapWealth Advisors Invited to Prestigious Industry Event

FRANKLIN, TENN. – Middle Tennessee-based financial advisor Phoebe Venable, president and chief operating officer of CapWealth Advisors, will attend the CFA Institute’s 2015 Society Leadership Conference in Hong Kong on October 8-10. The annual event is open each year to select chapters of the CFA Institute throughout the U.S. and the world, each of which sends a limited number of representatives based upon the chapter’s membership. The CFA Institute is global membership organization representing investment and financial professionals and confers the Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) credential, a designation known and respected worldwide for its emphasis on advanced investment analysis, real-world portfolio management skills and ethical and professional standards. The CFA Society of Nashville, which represents middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky CFAs, is delighted to be invited to this year’s global leadership conference and has chosen Venable, who also serves as a CFA Society of Nashville director, to represent the chapter.

The three-day conference will bring together successful CFAs from around the world for industry speakers, educational workshops, debates on hot-topic issues and networking. Throughout the conference, there will be an emphasis on how the CFA organization and their industry can better recruit, develop and retain future financial professionals; engage and partner with regulators around the world; build more effective local chapter leadership; and finally, improve relationships with investors. One of the events, titled “China In- and Out-Bound Capital Flows: Investor Opportunities,” will provide attendees special perspectives from their Hong Kong financial professional peers into the new business and investment opportunities arising from China’s decision to open cross-border investment activities.

Venable previously served as managing director of the private wealth management division of SunTrust’s local offices and as an investment advisor to super-affluent families with GenSpring Family Offices. She joined CapWealth Advisors in 2010 where she manages the day-to-day operations of the firm and continues to personally advise clients and families.

Last year, the Financial Times named Venable among the Top 100 Women Financial Advisors in the U.S. In 2013 and 2014, the Nashville Post named Venable to their “In Charge” list of top banking and finance professionals. The Nashville Business Journal selected her as a finalist for the Women of Influence 2012 awards in the Inspiration & Mentor category. She is frequently asked to speak on financial topics such as women and wealth, next-generation education, behavioral finance and investing. A columnist for The Tennessean, Venable writes a bi-weekly financial column on women, families and building wealth. The column appears every other Saturday in the business section of the newspaper.
