Wild About Travel Wild About Travel - Travel Tales by a Travel Addict

Why starting to share a monthly desktop wallpaper, you might wonder? And why kicking-off with the Algerian desert?

I certainly won’t claim being original (there are hundreds of desktop wallpapers on the internet), nor do I believe that my photography is that exceptional.

To be honest I thought about myself, what makes me dream, what inspires me to travel and to chose one destination or experience.

The answer is that most of my journeys have been – and still are – driven by images. Not the ones with sunsets so pink no one can seriously believe they’re real, neither the amazing photos I look at with admiration and awe towards a wonderful form of art I’d love to master. When I’m in search for travel inspiration I look at good photos (of course), but the ones letting me see the real thing. Almost.
Everyone with a little passion for travel and photography does some editing (I do it as well). However, when the main focus is on the place and not the image in itself, a little editing may enhance reality a bit, but does not really alter it.

As for the subject, I chose the Algerian desert because it is one of the most stunning places I ever visited, and one which tells a lot about me, my love for wide and wild spaces, my quest of silence and isolation.

I hope you’ll like the photo and, if you decide to use it for a little while as your desktop wallpaper, I wish it will let you dream, if only for a few seconds.
