**The foreign men and women of good character, with family constituted in the Republic, who possess some capital or property in the country or in some profession, art or industry, with three years of habitual residence in the Republic.
**The foreign men and women of good conduct, without family constituted in the Republic, having any of the qualities of the previous paragraph and five years of residence in the Republic .
**The men and foreign women who obtain special grace of the General Assembly for notable service or outstanding merit.

Please provide instructions on obtaining the certificate/documents.
e.g. The state office holds birth records since january 1908.

A list which displays the kind of information which is required to complete the procedure.

1. Date of Birth.
2. City or County of Birth.

*Visit the concerned authority.
*Fill the application form with complete information.
*Submit the necessary documents.
*Pay the prescribed fee.

*Authorization to reside in the country (certificate issued by the National Directorate of Immigration)
*Nationality (present one of the following)
**Birth certificate of the country of origin stamped by the Uruguayan Consulate in that country, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Public translated by translator if applicable.
**Another document of the country source (marriage certificate, passport, identity card, etc..) stating the applicant's nationality. The same should be submitted by the Uruguayan Consulate visa in that country, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Public translated by translator if applicable.

**Passport visa, legalized and translated, provided it is claimed that the light has the appropriate heading.
