To lead the Sales & Marketing function for Silverfish. To achieve and exceed sales targets agreed with the Directors.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager that has excellent business development, marketing and account management skills.

Working as the Sales and Marketing Manager you will play a pivotal role in growing the Company’s market share, both domestically and within Europe.

As the Sales and Marketing Manager you will manage a Team of Sales Reps, Inside Sales Manager, and Marketing personnel such as Social Media / SEO and Graphic Designers. This will also include recruiting new key team members to enhance and strengthen the Sales and Marketing Team so that the Company’s ongoing market share growth strategy is realised.

Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

Sales and Marketing Strategy

In collaboration with the Managing Director set the annual sales targets by month for territories and brands.

Implementation of procedures, processes, reporting structure and schedules, and collating of reports for monthly management meeting.

Responsible for the day-to-day and long term Management and Development of the current Sales and Marketing team.

Create a Sales Plan Document for the financial year to set out the actions to enable the achievement of the Annual Sales Targets.

Marketing Manager (Road Bikes)

Job Overview

The role is to lead the marketing activities for Road Bikes to ensure the Silverfish brands are presented to the maximum effect to the independent bike network and the buying public.

Reporting to: Sales & Marketing Manager

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

Identify appropriate events and trade shows and ensure all aspects of attending are organised.

The creation and maintenance of the website for all marketing input.

All aspects of social media interaction.

Building relationships with bike magazines & online media to ensure Silverfish brands products are given high profile.

Creation of point of sale materials for the independent bike network.

Creation and administration of printed marketing materials e.g. catalogues.

Wheel Service Technician / Cycle Mechanic

Reporting to: Warranty Manager

Job Overview

As Silverfish grows the requirement for an experienced Wheel Service Technician / Cycle Mechanic to support our Warranty and Technical Service Teams has become available. This will be a challenging role as the successful candidate will be highly experienced in all aspects of wheel servicing and wheel building, as well as being a competent cycle mechanic. They will also have a proven track record in providing high class customer service as well as a knowledge of our products and the services that we currently offer.

Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

Build, Repair and Service wheels to the highest standard under tight deadlines and using the correct technical documentation.

Repair or Service our cycles and associated components such as hydraulic brakes, hydraulic forks, gear systems and suspension hardware

Preparing cycles (PDI) and components for sale, shows or demonstrations.

Keeping areas including workshop and workshop tools clean and tidy and in a serviceable condition.

Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Warranty Manager.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will cater for all disciplines but will have a good knowledge and experience of working with wheel systems such as Easton, Shimano, Mavic, Formula, Race Face and e13. They will also have a sound understanding of Shimano and SRAM gear systems including developing technologies such as DI2 and EPS and be an avid cycling enthusiast.

Essential:

Cytech Level 3 Certificate including the advanced Wheel Building Qualification.

Cycle Mechanic Apprentice

Reporting to: Warranty Manager

Job Overview

The requirement for an apprenticeship role as a Cycle Technician has become available at Silverfish. The role will see the successful applicant follow a 12 month apprenticeship in Cycle Mechanics which will include the completion of the Certificate in Cycle Maintenance and the Cytech Technical Two / Wheel building training course. The remainder of the training will be delivered ‘in house’ at Silverfish UK.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties will include:

Repair, check and fix bikes under the supervision of qualified staff.

Prepare bikes and components ready for use as directed.

Keeping the workshop areas and all associated tools clean, safe and tidy.

Carry out any course work or projects as directed by the Apprenticeship delivery centre.

Maintain any cycle locations and ensure that stock is clean and serviceable as directed by the Warranty/Workshop team.

Any other duties as specified by the Warranty Manager

Skills

As an apprentice we are conscious that you are not already an expert but we are looking for someone who is a keen cycle enthusiast, who already knows their way around a bike, fix a tire, change a chain and even tune some gears. You will need to be a good time keeper with bags of energy and the eagerness to learn. In return we will offer the following over a 12 month period:

Certificate of Cycle Maintenance (often referred to as a Technical Certificate, this is specific, hands on training in Cycle Maintenance).

Cytech Level 2 and wheel building training (Delivered in a 10 day package at a training centre).

Job Overview

This is a 12 month contract for a Warehousing & Storage Apprenticeship Level 2.

With a Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Distribution, you will be qualified to the level of a warehouse operator.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in warehousing and distribution.

The Apprenticeship will be run in conjunction with Cornwall College.

Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

To load and unload vehicles

Check in and put away incoming goods

Process customer orders for despatch

Process returned goods

Moving and organising stock

Check and record stock levels

Book transport

Use manual handling equipment

Skills

Our ideal apprentice has great communication skills so you can deal with colleagues & customers in a polite and friendly manner both face to face and over the phone.

You will need to be aged 16 or over, have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C (ideally in English and maths, a good level of numeracy, literacy and organisational skills, be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy packages and objects, be able to work in a team paying attention to detail and have good timekeeping skills.

Our perfect apprentice is keen to learn lots of new skills. We can rely on you completely to always arrive at work on time, with the right attitude to work hard, listen well and carry out all tasks that are asked of you quickly and efficiently. You work well in team as you a have positive, polite and friendly manner and a good sense of humour. You ask questions when necessary and you take feedback well as you understand that will improve your performance. Once you have received the necessary training you are able to work alone without assistance as you have a proactive approach and you are able to use your own initiative. You take care over your work, ensuring everything you do is accurate, and you have the patience and attention detail to be able to update records on our computer system. As there can be elements of the role that require the movement of heavy parts you have a good level of strength and physical fitness. You always approach problems with a positive attitude and look for ways to solve them, rather than see obstacles. You are enthusiastic and driven to develop your career and earn your apprenticeship qualification.

Warranty/Technical/Service Advisor

Job Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to process all warranties within specified timeframes whilst offering a first class service through communication and technical expertise to the customer, dealer and on occasion, the manufacturer. The role also includes the repair and service of identified products, technical support and a general ability to think fast and assist in product related problems when they occur. The individual must be enthusiastic about our products and have a vast mechanical knowledge about Cycles. A recognised certificate in Cycle mechanics (Cytech level 3 standard) would be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

Process all warranties within given timeframes using the companies best practice for all brands.

Carry out the service, repair and maintenance of brakes, forks and components as designated by the Warranty Manager.

Provide current and useful feedback on all warranties, service and repairs to customers of Silverfish UK on a regular basis as designated in the company’s operating procedures or by the Warranty Manager.

Process product returns in a timely manner.

Provide feedback on product updates or changes to ‘key’ departments within Silverfish.

Ensure that the workshop is correctly maintained and report and deficiencies or faults to the warranty Manager as soon as they occur.

Assist in the management of small parts including catalogue creation, website descriptions, code confirmation and stocking in levels as designated by the Warranty Manager or the Managing Directors.
