2017-02-07

Wow! Can you believe we are in the month of February already? This year has brought newness; a new word of the year, as well as a new business and all with the same mission and vision. You may also be wondering where I’ve been. So, I have decided to share this post to place your mind at ease and let you know that I indeed am still alive and well and basically living up to my word of the year. My word for 2017 is Serenity and one that I am truly taking to heart. As a busy mom of 6 children with 3 still at home that we home educate, and a busy Chiropractic office; this is a word that I truly need to embrace. My life is anything but calm and tranquil which is what serenity means so I was truly amazed when during my quiet time and choosing a word for this new year; serenity is the one that kept popping up. So, serenity it is and I am working diligently at remaining calm and removing stressors from my life.

With the new year in full swing also comes a new business. I know that a new business brings on an entirely new set of stressors, however, I truly believe this one is one that will keep me calm and keep me excited all at the same time. Have you ever done something for so long that you wonder if you’ll ever stop? Initially, I had those exact feelings. I’ve been writing and sharing health tips, online for over 10 years! Yes, 10 YEARS!! Crazy, right? Ten years of writing diligently on my websites and later social media daily. Although healthy living is a lifestyle for me, I am taking a break from writing online to pursue my new business. This doesn’t mean that I will disappear or stop sharing healthy living tips and advice. However, it does mean that I won’t share on this site as frequently as I have in the past 10 years.

I love sharing information and rest assured that will not end. In fact, one of the companies that I work with called NOW Foods remains part of my lifestyle and I will continue sharing their products and their benefits on Facebook, Instagram and here on this site. One of the reasons is that I truly believe in this company and love ALL of their products, especially their essential oils. As I share this post, I am diffusing Clear the Air essential oil and it is not only clearing the air but clearing my mind, which is an added benefit.

With the many changes occurring in my life online, there are changes occurring offline as well. As my online business begins transition a new offline business is beginning to come to life. One of the many ways that I relax other than pumping iron at the gym is baking. I know, sounds crazy but I love to bake. However, I don’t just bake anything. I bake sweets from my childhood and heritage. I still remember watching my mom bake and her teaching me her secret recipes. These recipes are ones that I hold dear to my heart but have recently begun to share with the public as well. My new business revolves around Puerto Rican sweet treats but I have added a twist to it all. My sweets are definitely decadent, however, they are all bite-sized to help ease the guilt. After all, moderation is the key and it’s perfectly fine to treat yourself on occasion. That’s when my new business was born – Oopsy Daisy Sweets. These are authentic Puerto Rican delights that are bite-sized decadent treats.

As you can tell, I’ve been very busy but enjoying every minute of it. This new year has brought many changes but my vision and mission remains the same. My mission has always been to help individuals lead happier and healthier lifestyles and my vision is to achieve this mission without ceasing. Living a happier and healthier lifestyle does not mean restrictions or needless diets, instead, it means making healthier choices, eliminating the bad and replacing with good and of course, implementing moderation in every aspect of your life.

I hope that you continue to visit Wholistc Fit Living and join me on my new venture of living a more serene lifestyle while enjoying some sweets too.
