Let’s talk about how to become a person of purpose. I want to look at the importance of first of all, finding purpose in what you are doing, and second, how to find purpose in the challenges you are facing in your business.

Because if you have purpose, then you can get through pretty much anything…your purpose is going to be what drives you and helps you overcome obstacles…and you’ll find fulfillment and satisfaction in your work – yes, even before your income is where you want it to be.

The truth is that becoming a person of purpose has everything to do with FOCUS. Focusing on the right things. When your focus is in the right place, you’ll feel fulfilled, you’ll find joy in your work, and the results will also come sooner.

Why is it that the results will come sooner? I’ll get to that in just a moment…

Finding Purpose In What You Are Doing

It’s so, so important to do what you love. When you choose your marketing strategies, when you pick your business opportunity and products, go with something that excites you!

Hopefully you have already made those choices…you are focusing on what you are passionate about…and the good news is that when you are doing that, you are setting yourself up for success.

Because just that excitement itself will get you so far. Like I said a minute ago, it will give meaning to your day even before you start making money, and if you’re excited about what you’re doing, it’s also a lot easier to keep going in the face of challenges.

Also, when you do what you’re passionate about, and you use your talents to serve others, and you really commit to becoming excellent at your craft, then, more often than not, the money will take care of itself.

Because the money you earn or don’t earn is simply a reflection of your value in the market place.

Money is a by-product of the value you bring to the table. The more skilled you are at what you do, and the better you are at using those skills to serve others, the greater the chances that you will make really good money.

And, by the way, when you are passionate about what you do, it’s a lot easier to actually get good at it – to acquire those skills that will make you sought after in the market place. No one will have to “make you” go to work on your business.

Rather, they will probably have to make you stop and take a break! Work won’t even feel like work! I bet you know what I am talking about! ;-)

So yes, this is why that passion is so important.

Also, as you go about working your business on a daily basis, rather than being driven by the money, try to find your joy and purpose in the fact that you are adding value to people’s lives.

Let THIS be what’s making you wake up with a smile on your face in the morning. Let THIS be what drives you. Then you’ll have fun and enjoy the process from day one.

As a home business owner you are in a very unique position to make a difference: You are offering products or services that have the potential to improve the quality of your customers’ lives.

You are giving your new reps an opportunity to become financially free. You are giving the members you are bringing into MLSP the opportunity to learn marketing skills that will help them and their families.

How can that not get you excited?

If you already have team members, find your purpose in being a great leader for your team – in being someone who is committed to developing new leaders. Find your purpose in being a source of inspiration for them – and not just for your team members, but for prospects, too…

Inspire and motivate people through your Instagram posts or Facebook updates, videos, and blog posts. This will fuel your fire like nothing else. Fact is, when you motivate and encourage others, you will end up being motivated and encouraged yourself!

So if you’ve been feeling maybe a bit discouraged that you are not yet where you want to be as far as your results go, try shifting your focus.

Again, try to think a little less about the money and more about your purpose: You are learning the skills that will improve your life…you are taking charge of your future…and you are adding value to people’s lives…

The irony is that the more you are able to take your focus off yourself and shift it like I just described, the more likely you are to see your results improve.

This, because you’re going to become more relaxed about the process, less needy, more other-centered, and this of course your prospects will pick up on.

The person who has a strong purpose, and who is truly there to serve others and not just in it for themselves, that’s the person who’s going to attract business!

And by the way, when it comes to your income goals, why not tie those too to helping people?

Find out how many reps you would need to help reach a certain income in order to meet your OWN residual goals. Then focus on this – on helping those people reach that income level. It gives you so much more purpose than just focusing on yourself and what YOU want to attain.

Finding Purpose in Your Challenges

I lost 40K in an MLM business before I got started with MLSP back in 2008 and finally learned to market the RIGHT way.

Of course, it was horrific to think of at the time, that I had wasted so much money on buying overpriced leads that didn’t convert – until I learned to look at it a little differently…

I got to a point where I came to realize that my struggles were part of my story, and I began to use my story in my marketing. I began to share it on my blog and in videos.

I could relate to other network marketers and understand their pain. Because, as I would discover, so many other MLMers had the same experiences. Like them, I knew what it was like to struggle…to work so hard and not getting anything back…the rejection…spending all that money with nothing to show for it.

Not only could I relate to other network marketers, but they could relate to me. They could relate to my STORY. Therefore they also trusted me.

And trust, of course, is a prerequisite for someone to buy from you!

So I took that pain of wasting all that time and money and found purpose in it. I told my story. And that story again helped me attract people into MLSP and my business opportunity.

You can do the same thing, with anything you’ve struggled with. Make it part of your story. If you’ve done things that haven’t worked, well, then that makes you more valuable in the marketplace because now you can teach your reps not only what they should do, but what they should NOT do – and you’ll save them time and money, which again will help your own residual income!

Because you’ve made mistakes you can now help your future reps avoid mistakes!

Your “failures” may cost you initially, but if you look for the purpose in those failures and think of how you can you use it to help others, you will get back what you lost, and much more.

The purpose of your failures is to teach you the lessons you need to know to make better decisions. Remember, making mistakes is just part of the process.

So hang in there. Some day soon YOUR story will inspire others who are struggling. But it can only do so if you don’t give up.

There is someone out there who needs to hear your story of trial and triumph.

Which is why you must NEVER quit no matter what. Rather work on changing your perspective on your challenges.

One of my mentors taught me to always ask, “What’s good about this?”, pointing out that there is something good to be found in practically every situation. There is always a lesson to learn.

So, train your mind to look for the positive – the PURPOSE – behind your difficulties, and then think about, specifically, how you can use those difficulties for good.

So, the bottom line is this: When you are a person of purpose, others will sense it and be attracted to you. And you’ll get more business. Because people are attracted to purpose-driven people. This is the kind of person everyone wants to be around.

When you’re purpose-driven, you’ll come across as the leader people want to work with.

Know who you are, where you are going, and why you are doing what you’re doing. And then, as far as meeting needs, try taking your eyes off of yourself and your own needs, and focus on the needs of OTHERS. Focus on serving and giving great value – and all the while you are working on honing your skills so you’ll have increasingly more to offer people.

Others will sense that you are genuine, that you are the real deal, that you have their best interest at heart. And when on top of that, you have tools and resources and products that can truly help them, how can they NOT want to work with you? :))
