Alabama Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk is May 14, 2016 at the Randolph School-Drake Campus. Registration starts at 8:30 AM and the walk starts at 9AM.
The Alabama Kidney Foundation is the only state-based organization in Alabama that serves kidney patients through Financial Assistance, Education and Support Services. They assist kidney patients in the state of Alabama. Their Financial Assistance Programs serve low-income kidney patients, who are unable to pay for daily living needs, such as prescription medications, utility bills, medical equipment, and transportation to and from dialysis treatments. Their Education Program provides kidney patients with free printed and web-based education materials to help patients and their family members understand chronic kidney disease. Their Support Services provide Alabama`s kidney patients with social activities in dialysis centers and a special gift during the holidays. The AKF also sponsors a pediatric patient camp through Children`s Hospitals.
