ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) –A group of Marshall County students noticed a need for school supplies for their fellow classmates, so they’re doing something about it and they need your help.
A group of teens stood together, talking at the Albertville Chamber of Commerce. They’re all part of the Albertville Chamber of Commerce Junior Board, and they’re discussing something they’re working to get the entire community involved in.
“We are putting on our annual school supplies drive for the Albertville City Schools system,” student Madeleine Mitchell says.
Anything that can be used in school is more than welcome. “Paper, pencils, binders, erasers, even tissue paper, for the classrooms,” explains Mitchell.
They started this week. “We are ending the sixth of August,” says Mitchell.
The donated supplies will go to all of the city’s schools, all grades.
It seems like a lot of work, making sure their peers are prepared for the school year when these teens are doing the same thing. They noticed a need though, and they’re doing something about it.
“We are fortunate and we don’t get to see as much what people are facing,” says another student, Andra Williams, “Just giving back in the most simple way of just school supplies is helpful.”
So, there you have it. It’s a group of teens, just doing the right thing.
