MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A 15-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car Tuesday morning while walking on County Road 41.
Alabama State Troopers say Austin Cook was walking on the road near Danville-Neel Elementary School. Troopers say Cook was hit by a 2002 Pontiac, and died at the scene.
The driver of the car was not hurt.
The Decatur Daily reports the teen was walking to Danville High School for weight training for the football team. Cook was going to be a freshman at the school this fall.
Troopers say the investigation continues.
