Manages, organizes, plans, and directs network services to insure that all data, image, and video network systems are maintained at appropriate service levels.  Provides managerial network expertise and guidance in the area of research, evaluation, selection, development, implementation, and support.  Ensures the logical utilization of the LAN and WAN network is uniform and consistent with industry architecture standards.  Responsible for support of the corporate business plan, strategy, and growth through effective and efficient network systems.   Responsible for effective support of network clients, hospital patients, and others dependent on network services.

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required

Education:

Require Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Computer Science.  Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Experience:

MCSE strongly preferred with 2-3 years experience in a Microsoft multi-server networking environment.  Experience working with multiple domains with mission critical systems.

Additional skills/abilities:

Require extensive knowledge and experience in advanced network system design and access technologies.  Complete understanding and knowledge of data and image communication concepts, protocols, and techniques.  Extensive understanding and experience with detailed electronic principles used in data and image processing equipment.  Ability to analyze, coordinate, and manage multiple technologies and concepts effectively.  Outstanding organizational, technical and managerial skills to creatively formulate, interpret, and integrate a large number of complex issues and problems.  Detailed knowledge of external network communication regulations.  Expertise with local area networking (LAN) and wide area networking (WAN) environments.  Strong communication and people skills.

Knowledge of health care operations.  Experienced in project management and establishing protocols for system development.  Ability to analyze, coordinate, and manage multiple technologies, resources and concepts effectively.  Skills necessary to motivate a professional technical staff.  Must perform efficiently, producing accurate and complete deliverables based on sound judgment with independent analysis.  Demonstrated ability to relate to all levels of the user community.  Expertise in current Healthcare Informatics, Operations and Information Technology.

Extensive knowledge of healthcare planning, delivery systems, operations and economics.  Lead managers and staff in accomplishing the objectives of the department.  Skilled in conflict resolution.  Extensive knowledge in Novell IPX, TCP/IP, Routers, Hubs, Gateways, Controllers, AIX, UNIX, Windows, and Microsoft NT.
