PC CAUSES COWHERD TO MOVE ON Does today’s political correctness go beyond its limits? ESPN terminates Colin Cowherd from its radio and TV programming because of his comments about Dominicans: …a third of the sport is from the Dominican Republic which has not been known, in my lifetime, as having, you know, world-class academic abilities. ESPN claims that is offensive. Colin’s new employer Fox Sports lays out $6 million per year for his new position. Fox makes no official announcement of what his new role there is.

SCOTTY BRINK [WIBG-990, KHJ-930, WOR FM, WCFL-1000, WLS-890, WRKO-680, WNBC-660] (Oklahoma City, OK) Hey Jim…It seems I’m a bit slow at email response these days. I don’t do much of it while traveling, which has been occupying the vast majority of my time lately. And that, by the way, is not a complaint. It has been a lot fun, to say the least. Monday, I hit the road again for a few weeks. This time northwestward, to cool mountains and quiet secluded beaches. Can’t wait. Thanks for doing a station count for me. Only 24? It seems like it was a hundred. I envy your having been in one area for your career. Moving back and forth across the country several times can be quite wearing. I missed a lot of that ‘home’ feeling through those years. Once I experienced it for myself, the wanderlust grew thin. But having said all that, be assured that I’m eternally grateful to have experienced the career I’ve enjoyed so much, and the people, places and events that have filled my life so wonderfully. If you think of it, please send me some easy contact info. We’re in Texas quite regularly. It would be great to meet you. I love what you have done with your blog. I don’t feel very close to the biz anymore, but still enjoy reading what you write. Thanks for being the pro you obviously are. Best, Scotty B
