Songwriter Sandy Mason writes both songs, as well as others. Ms. Mason records for Acuff-Rose publishing house label Hickory Records with producer Wesley Rose. Sandy Mason Theoret born on January 11, 1959 in Birdville, PA passes away from pancreatic cancer at 71 on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Ormond Beach, FL.

POPULAR TV MINISTER ENTERS HEAVEN’S GATES Robert Harold Schuller is born on September 16, 1926 in Alton, IA. From 1950-55, he pastors Ivanhoe Reformed Church in Chicago, IL. In 1980, he builds the grand glass-and-steel Crystal Cathedral for his vast TV ministry to 20 million viewers in 180 countries. For years, we watch Reverend Robert Schuller’s Hour of Power telecast on Sunday mornings from the Crystal Cathedral. On Thursday, April 2, 2015 Robert Schuller passes away at 88 in a rest home in Artesia, CA.
MALONE’S CHARTER CABLE BIDS $10B FOR BRIGHT HOUSE The FCC shoots down John Malone’s Charter Cable purchase of the larger Time Warner Cable. But in a second offering the FCC approves Comcast’s takeover of TWC. Malone strikes again with a $10.4 billion deal to take over Bright House and create a new company. Bright House cable’s big cheese Newhouse family owns New Jersey’s Star-Ledger and magazine giant Conde Nast. Charter is also in line to grab spun-off assets from Comcast-TWC.
BETTER WATCH WHAT WE TWEET Windy City afternoon host Dan Bernstein and his midday ally Matt Spiegel on WSCR-670 are in hot water over their tweets about Comcast SportsNet Chicago anchor Aiyana Cristal. Bernstein tweets about Aiyana’s physical anatomy. Spiegel tweets that he’s distracted by her professional discomfort on the air. The Association for Women in Sports Media quickly condemns their comments. Spiegel apologizes with a tweet. Bernstein says on-air I’m an idiot.

I don’t know if he gets your emails, but I email back & forth quite a bit with Don Sundeen. While I’ve never actually met him, we do know many of the same people. DON SUNDEEN [former KCOH-1430 OM/PD/DJ-Hi Records promotion-TV ad prod] (Dallas, TX) ‘Wikipedia on “It’s Later Than You Think.” The most popular version of the song, recorded by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians, was made on November 27 (some sources give November 28), 1949. The recording was released by Decca Records as catalog number 24825. The record first reached the Billboard charts on January 13, 1950 and lasted 19 weeks on the chart, peaking at #10. Another recording, by Doris Day, was made on January 13, 1950 and released by Columbia Records as catalog number 38709. Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra made a recording on February 2, 1949 which was released by RCA Victor Records as catalog number 20-3375. In 1963 Prince Buster recorded a Ska version which was released by Blue Beat records as a B-Side.’

CHARLES GEORGE [KC5RAI – ex KCHU FM] (Dallas, TX) I noticed a station from Houston, on 1560 it puts in a good signal from about an hour before sunset until a couple of hours after it gets dark. The signal then gets lost. I comes in when KTRH and the others cannot be copied. I also have been getting a station with Gospel programming from Baton Rouge on 1550, they have a very good signal most nights. I was at a Music Store asking about a certain recording I wanted to buy, the sales person goes, “You could Google that.” I start to walk away since I did not feel like saying what was on my mind. The Store Manager sees me about to walk out of the store, “Do you have a problem?” I go, “No, just plan to Google and find music I want to buy and not come back here.” I then left and caught the bus home. TRIVIA ANSWER: From March 29 to April 10, 1967 the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) calls its very first nationwide strike in its 30 year history. In NYC, AFTRA removes all WABC-770 airstaff off the air. Management personnel replaces WABC-770 airstaff. ABC press relations executive Marty Grove tries to fill in for Cousin Brucie. Music Radio WABC-770 PD Rick Sklar turns the strike into a radio promotion with new PAMS jingles. On April 10, 1967 the nationwide AFTRA strike ends.
