Hyatt Regency Orlando
Since my family lives in Vero Beach, we typically drive to Orlando for the day and drive right back home. But, in August, my mom and I were traveling to Orlando multiple days and decided to stay in this enormous metropolitan city. We chose to stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando and could not have had a better stay. The hotel was stunning and in a great location. Whether you are traveling with your family or solo, the Hyatt Regency Orlando will meet all of your needs.
Perfect For Business And Pleasure
The Hyatt Regency Orlando has 1639 guest rooms, 192 of which are suites. They offer free WIFI, valet parking, a pet friendly stay, 24 hour fitness center, 14 meeting venues, tropical pools, spa, concierge lounge, and is conveniently located across the street from the Orange County Convention Center (2nd largest in the world!).
The Hyatt’s spa is not just open to hotel guests. Purchase a spa membership ($150 per month) and enjoy 24 hour fitness center access, free parking, and one 50 minute spa treatment. Locals should definitely take advantage of this deal!
If you are a Florida resident traveling within the state, check out the Hyatt Regency Orlando’s website for discounts. They are currently offering residents a 10% discount and late checkout.
A Plethora Of Onsite Restaurants
The Hyatt Regency Orlando is home to 7 restaurants: Urban Tide (Coastal Florida cuisine), Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse (Italian meets Florida steakhouse), B Line Diner (serving comfort food 24 hours a day), Rocks (cocktails, beer, wine), Lobby Bar (appetizers and drinks), Coconuts Poolside Bar and Grill (adjacent to the Grotto Pool), and Coffee Etcetera (coffee and snacks you can grab). If you would rather stay in your room for meals, the Hyatt Regency Orlando also offers in room dining.
One evening, the concierge sent cookies from the B Line Diner to our room. They were wonderful and made a great late night snack! They even included cold milk.
Dining at Urban Tide
During our stay, we had dinner at Urban Tide, their premier restaurant. Urban Tide’s decor was lovely, definitely playing into the Coastal Florida theme. We ordered two appetizers to start with, Cheddar Biscuits and Asparagus and Corn Risotto. The biscuits, paired with pimento cheese were our favorite. They were simple, southern, and very enjoyable.
For dinner, I chose the organic Salmon Oscar and Melody picked the Barbecue Prawns, their version of Shrimp and Grits. My salmon was plated beautifully. Melody’s grits were rich and decadent, pure creamy goodness. Our dessert consisted of white chocolate mousse, strawberry sauce, and Elderflower Pearls. It was the perfect way to end our meal.
Tropical Pool
The Hyatt Regency Orlando has created a true tropical oasis. Three pools, cascading waterfalls, hot tubs, family gaming area, and a waterslide can all be found here. The Hyatt has a kiosk at the pool’s entrance where guests can rent pool floats and toys for the day. What a great idea! You can also rent cabanas around the pool.
The Hyatt was kind enough to give us a cabana to use during our visit. We cannot recommend renting one enough! Your rental includes a large shaded area with couches to sit on, reserved lounge chairs for laying in the sun, a waitress from Coconuts Poolside Bar, and storage for your belongings. Melody and I were able to both enjoy the sun and get some work done. We ordered lunch from Coconuts (Chicken Fingers and French Fries, Hummus Platter, Margarita, and Miami Vice) and enjoyed every bite. We had a fantastic day hanging out at the Hyatt Regency Orlando’s pool!
Beautiful Furnishings
The Hyatt Regency Orlando’s lobby was huge and full of friendly staff. The furnishings were aesthetically pleasing and the light fixtures were incredible. One chandelier had hundreds of crystal strings attached and we were mesmerized each time we walked by it. The room off to the right of the lobby had lit up bookshelves and pottery hanging on the wall. It was my favorite room of all.
Melody and I stayed in a suite with an adjoining room. The suite had a bedroom, bathroom, wet bar, and living room. It was a great size! The bathroom was to die for: light up mirror with a TV, marble sinks, KenetMD toiletries, deep bathtub, and a light under the sink so you could find your way around in the middle of the night. Both rooms had plenty of lighting and outlets, huge plusses for our blogging life. There was also a balcony offering a spectacular view of the pool area.
The Hyatt’s decor was so incredible, that we actually had professional pictures taken onsite. Flytographer came to the hotel and we took pictures around the resort and by the pool. They turned out fantastic!
Great Accommodations
We had an impeccable stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando! Although we were only in Orlando, it felt like we were on vacation far from home. Consider making this your home away from home during your travels to Orlando, Florida.
