Years from now, experts would probably look back to 2015 as the pivotal year when Huawei made the world notice and established itself as a very dominant brand in the mobile phone market. According to a report by GizmoChina, Huawei, proved its claim as the third biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, shipping 100 million smartphones –despite not having a huge presence in the United States.

With the Nexus 6P, a lot of American users finally took notice of the brand which could probably open up more opportunities for the company to build a stronger presence in the near future.

From its entry level Y series that got the attention of young teens because of their collaboration with Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo, their alternative brand Honor, and its triumvirate of 6Plus 4x and 4C as well as the P8 and P8 lite duo to its flagship Mate S, Huawei has created phones that catered to the needs of every smartphone user, at very competitive prices.

This 2016, the company is off to another great start with the unveiling of the Huawei Mate 8–which a lot of tech experts have described as the “fastest phone on Earth.”

Made for the new young business elites, Huawei Mate 8 is a productivity-driven device that features the world’s most advanced smartphone technology ever — a new benchmark of amazing performance, finger print scan security, fast charging and long battery life.

The Mate 8 is the first smartphone to run the company’s own Kirin 950 chipset, with CPU boosting power up 100 percent, GPU performance up 125 percent, and power efficiency up 70 percent vs. the Kirin 925. The device’s architecture balances energy efficiency with high-end performance through 4 x A72 2.3 GHz processors and 4 x A53 1.8 GHz processors.

Equipped with a 4000mAh high-density battery, the Huawei Mate 8 delivers industry-leading power efficiency offering over two days of normal usage. And with rapid charging technology, the phone is able to charge a day’s worth of power in just 30 minutes, which is 105 percent faster than the Apple iPhone 6s Plus.

In fact, regular users can go without charging their phone for 2.36 days, and heavy users can go without charging for 1.65 days. The Mate 8 also features an advanced six-layer thermal mechanics, which allows higher heat dissipation leading to an excellent holding experience and lower power consumption. In order to prevent the battery from running low too quickly, the Mate 8 makes full use of its remarkable Kirin 950 chip with the new EMUI 4.0 smart-power technology, which allows users to enjoy a long standby time.

The latest Mate 8 Kirin950 hardware comes with 16nm chip technology compared to the previous 28nm chip of the Kirin925, increasing the integration level by 100 percent and the energy efficiency ratio (EER) by 70 percent.

Precision meets Perfection

The metallic unibody design is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and the device’s body is meticulously crafted through 52 processes in addition to leveraging the diamond cutting technology and precision procedure of a computer numerical control machine.

The sleek look of the Mate 8 is achieved with the ultra-fast diamond glass cutting technology. With this technology, the 2.5D diamond cut glass and metal are joined together seamlessly at 35,000 rpm.

The side of the Mate 8 is designed with great precision with a drawing process. On the rear surface, Huawei uses a sandblasting technique to create a texture with a dignified appearance. Given the meticulous procedure of sandblasting, trimming and fine metallic drawing, the engraved grain beneath the glass of the camera is accurate to the nearest micron.

Despite its 6-inch screen the Huawei Mate 8 remains as the most compact smartphone yet with an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio, — 2.7mm – 0.4mm thinner than the Mate 7.

Stunning photos with new Image Sensor

You know the company is really serious about making the best camera when it invests $98 million to develop its proprietary image sensor processor.

The new sensor for faster focusing, higher clarity and more accurate color shading. The company assembled a leading team of 300 in France and spent three years on R&D. As a result, processing speeds are faster, the throughput rate is higher by four times with 14bit hyperfine sampling, and exclusive DSP hardware imaging acceleration is allowed.

The Mate 8 includes the all-new IMX298, Sony’s MP stackable image sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and 1/2.8 light sensor size. At 1.5° OIS, the Mate 8 has the industry’s greatest image-stabilization angle.

The camera has faster and more accurate focusing due to the Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and closed-loop motor control technology. With this technology, the user can simply touch the shutter, and the Mate 8 is able to accurately calculate the distance between the lens and correct focal point to produce high-quality photos.

The Mate 8 has several camera features including: slow motion, continuous capture mode, and professional mode. The slow motion mode allows the user to record 920p videos at 120 fps and play the video at a quarter of the original speed. With the continuous capture mode, the Mate 8 can take 100 burst shots at 12 fps. For photography enthusiasts, the professional camera mode allows users to set shooting parameters. The Mate 8 is able to automatically straighten images that are taken from an angle.

New Touch Security features

The Huawei Mate 8 introduces a new generation of fingerprint security with enhanced protection technology. The circular fingerprint sensor improves the effective identification area by 10 percent. In addition, the fingerprint friction ridge matching has three levels of security, providing higher protection for users. The new sensor design also increases the unlock speed by 100%.

The Mate 8 maintains two sets of fingerprint interface standards to improve smartphone payment experiences—the Fast Identity Online (FIDO) and Android M standards. The strong CPU also supports real-time encryption of full storage for better data protection. The Mate 8 provides a microSD card lock, preventing anyone from accessing content in the card without a password. If a phone is stolen, user data cannot be obtained.

The Mate 8 offers enhanced security of date with a protected firewall formed by the Kirin950’s TrustZone and secure OS. In addition to automatically saving fingerprint data, the Mate 8 has strong chip-level security achieved by the hardware isolation between operating environment and storage space of the Android system. Every time a user reads or writes data, automatic encryption and decryption are logged into the chip, protected by TrustZone. If a user’s Mate 8 is stolen, the no one can extract data even with advanced technology.

The Mate 8 enables the microSD card to lock, which prevents the card’s information to be obtained when inserted into another device. When the user inserts the microSD card into a different phone, a prompt will ask the user to set a password for the card. After the password is set, no one can access the content from the microSD card without the password.

Efficient Conferencing

The Huawei Mate 8 features “Super Hands-Free 3.0” technology that enables hands-free operation in a variety of environments. Whether you’re in a car, a conference room or at a crowded party, users can enjoy clear conversations from up to 3 meters away. With a 120 degree range of audio pick up and directional noise reduction mode, conference calls are crisper and clearer than ever before, no matter where they take place.

The Mate 8 features omnidirectional recording and directional playback. Three microphones automatically detect sound sources and record voices from all directions. During playback, people can choose any direction of the sound source they want to hear. Additionally, the Mate 8 provides document readjustment camera mode, which automatically straightens images that are captured at an angle for better viewing.

Globally Connected

The Mate 8 supports global connectivity and more bands than any other dual-SIM phone, including 4 2G bands, 9 3G bands and 18 4G bands in 217 countries and regions with 1,334 operator settings. This makes it the perfect device for the global business traveler
