“In the next two years, Huawei will concentrate on 4G network rollout to enable best mobile broadband service to Filipino people.” This was one of the promises  made by Jacky Gao Kexin, CEO of Huawei Technologies PhilippinesHuawei in his speech during the Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc. Philippines ICT Roadshow 2015 held last week at Dusit Thani Manila Hotel.

Kexin said he believes their products will “help break the digital divide, so that every Filipino can empower their lives through ICT applications.”

The Philippines ICT Roadshow 2015 aims to reach out to existing partners as well as potential customers in the industry by sharing Huawei’s vision towards ICT transformation strategy, success stories and demonstrate the most advanced technologies and solutions.

“The Theme of this year’s ICT Summit is “Building a Better Connected Philippines. Why we choose this topic for today’s summit? asked the company CEO. “First, ICT connectivity has changed our life dramatically. Looking back 20 years ago, getting a taxi ride using your mobile device, ordering a product online, or submitting your job application through mobile phone is next to impossible. But today, Internet has become not just an infrastructure of the society, but also a fundamental business mindset; and mobile has become a basic lifestyle for all of us.

Over the past 20 years, ICT technology has changed the world dramatically. Personal Computers, Internet, smartphone, and social media have changed the way we communicate with each other. We are now living in a super-connected world. Every part of our society and business recognizes the value of ICT.”

Second, Kexin adds, the Philippine is facing a new wave of ICT reform. “I am very happy to learn that this month is also the National ICT Month of the Philippines and the main topic is ”Internet for All: No Juan Left Behind”, which indicate that both government and private sector have been fully aware of the significance of ICT connectivity to this more and more interconnected society.”

To sustain the economic growth in the future, Philippine needs more holistic ICT policies and infrastructures to meet the growing demands for e-government and e-commerce services, and e-Innovation based on high quality Internet. As we know that the Senate has just passed the bill to create a new Department of ICT to focus on promoting digital literacy and ICT expertise. And Philippine government has initiated the Free Public WiFi programs to provide Internet access in public places.

“Thirdly, Huawei, as a leading company in ICT, is committed to providing better products and services for Filipino consumers. In the progress of ICT development, Huawei has been lucky enough to serve three billion people around the world with our innovative products and trusted services. There are three kinds of business group of Huawei today: Carrier, Enterprise and Consumer Business. As for Carrier business, we have established successful partnership with 45 out of top 50 telecom operators in the world. In the Philippines, we are the strategic partner of all the telecom operators. In the past 10 years, we have helped Globe to modernize the whole 2G and 3G network and Globe got great business success in recent 2 years. We jointly together with Smart to launch the first large scale 3.5GHz TDD LTE network to serve home and SME users of Philippines. We launched biggest SingleSON network in the world with Globe to improve the network efficiency and reshape the network to the future.

Enterprise Business is growing rapidly in Philippines, Huawei have lots of customized cost-effective solution to make Philippine enterprise more intelligent with higher efficiency. For example, we constructed campus network for De la Salle University to upgrade education management efficiency, and is working with Ateneo de Manila University on Visual Classroom project, which will realize the remote teaching and learning across different campuses. And for Finance sectors, Huawei provided Banking Core Network and Server/Storage system for East West Bank to achieve more efficient and less-expensive transaction.

In the coming future, e-Government, e-Bank, e-Education, etc. will be very popular based on these specific enterprise solution. As for Consumer Business, the Huawei CEO described it as their “coolest and most popular products to terminal users.”

For instance, our flagship smartphone ‘MATE 7’ has become one of the most demanded products. All of these terminal products can meet the different demands from low-income classes to mid/high-end users in the Philippines. Just like what our Consumer Business slogan says– “Make it Possible”, we are trying to make communications possible for all the Filipino people.”

During the Roadshow, Huawei unveiled an exclusive product –The Huawei Converged Storage Oceanstor Version 3.0. The Oceanstor V3 is a converged and unified storage that supports multiple storage platforms and protocols in a single chassis. This latest innovation will support to save time and resources for businesses within existing equipments.

Huawei experts also discussed industry trends, challenges solutions and best practices. Aside from impressive product presentations, Huawei also held talks focusing on the following topics: Huawei Cloud Conference Manila 2015, Huawei Intelligent Education Solution, and Huawei Finance Solution Update.

Huawei’s top executives like Huawei Philippines CEO Jacky Gao Kexin was also present at the event to welcome everyone as well as be on hand to answer any industry or product related concerns.
