This Capitol wedding styled photo shoot based on the hit novel and movie series The Hunger Games Trilogy heats up modern elements with a little geek flare to set “Love on Fire”. Fiery reds, oranges and golds heat up this glamorous Capitol City shoot shot by David Lilly of Lilly and Lilly Photography in the super sleek and chic venue, The MEZZ in Orlando.

“Instead of a typical rustic theme, we went with a high-style glamorous Capitol perspective. In the novel, the author alludes to Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mallark eloping. So, the photo shoot is from the Capitol’s point of view. We imagined what the wedding would look like if the Capitol found out about the union and wanted to host an extravagant wedding for the couple.”

Adel Travis and Andrew Johnson portrayed main characters Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mallark both wearing wedding attire from All Brides 2 Be.

“For Adel, we chose a monochromatic look of all gold. Her gold mermaid wedding dress was complimented by the hair and makeup artistry of Michele Renee The Studio. We wanted Adel’s look to reflect the modern bride, so we gave her a colored wedding dress, a dramatic and sculptured hair piece, ombre lips and nail art!”

The beautiful tablescapes designed by Pretty Peacock Planning played with the fiery, modern theme of the shoot with a stunning cake  from Anna Cakes,  stationery provided by Pretty Peacock Paperie which embodied the feel of the table, classic fleurs paired with a modern streamlined designed and over the top rhinestones in true Capitol fashion.

“We went with a ruffled cake to further reinforce the texture and movement in the dress, the napkins and the table skirts. We also featured the couple’s daring signature drink, Night Lock Berry Spritzer, served in potion bottles. Another great element from the cake table was the popcorn bar, complete with a fiery flavor seasoning station. For the reception table we went with a mix of modern sculptural elements and traditional elements. The florals were provided by The Wild Hare Flowers. Globes of fiery-colored flowers were orbed with gold leaves and mimicked The Hunger Games Trilogy inspired centerpiece.”

“Overall, the vendor team came together to create a fiery feast of inspiration for brides. Again, we wanted to include modern elements that brides think of in today’s wedding industry. Brides are taking more risks with their weddings and are creating customized weddings to suit their taste and aesthetic. This shoot was a representation of the modern bride.”
