Hey, all! Hope you’re all doing well! My December has been pretty rough. There’s a lot of pressure at work and school already started this week so I’m pretty exhausted. Even if I want to catch up on blogging, I just really, really want to be with my bed. Thank God for the weekend! Anyway, I have a looooot of backlogs but I hope you don’t mind another unboxing post because the amazing team of BDJ has just released their year-ender exclusive beauty box c/o Max Factor! It’s the lightest box I’ve received but don’t always judge a beauty box by its weight because, as you can see, we have here an amazing loot of makeup!

This month’s theme is Stand Out Like A Star. These products are handpicked to make every girl look and feel like their favorite Hollywood celebrity. In the 20′s or Golden Age of Hollywood, Mr. Max Factor was popular among the stars. He was a very talented man – a visionary makeup artist, a wig maker and inventor. It wasn’t long before he became popular that he found himself working with A-list celebrities and making his own line of cosmetics. When he started selling the products he created, that was the first time he made it available outside of Hollywood. That’s why we have it available all around the globe now! His philosophy is that “any woman could be glamourous given the right tools and make-up artstry skills.” Did you know that it was MF who first coined the phrase “make-up”? (Source)

Max Factor collaborated with 7 international makeup artists to come up with 7 looks that will inspire women to find their personal glamour statement. The brand tapped on Hollywood A-lister, Gwyneth Paltrow, to be the face of the 7 looks. They based these statement looks on the different roles she plays in her life.

Creme Puff Pressed Powder in Medium Beige (PHP575, 21g) - “This classic all-in-on compact of any occasion was originally made for movie stars. Enjoy the multitude of benefits of this open Hollywood secret – it provides perfect coverage, a luminous glow, and a natural finish to your skin.”

Based on what I’ve read about Max Factor, he formulated the products to make it appear natural on screen. I’m actually very curious how this vintage powder would translate on my skin. This must be good considering this was used in the 50s  and the formulation never changed. One thing’s for sure, it really is from the past because it carries a strong florally grandma scent to it.

Earth Spirits Eyeshadow (Php 445, 3g) - “This ultimate everyday eyeshadow will give you a light, silky, texture that can create a subtle day look for the office, or a dramatic and sexy look in the evening. It is extremely versatile, which allows makeup artists to use it as an eyeliner as well.”

I love the shade of this eyeshadow because it’s not too shimmery and wearable for day time. It’s also a plus that it can double as an eyeliner, too.

Kohl Pencil (Php 425, 1.2 g) - “With a new advanced formula for easy application, this creamy Kohl Pencil blends easily to give you a soft natural look. It is also long-wearing, so it won’t fade or smudge on your eyes once it has set.”

Who would want raccoon eyes? No one. It’s important to me that my eyeliner stays put all-day because I hardly have time to touch up. I’ve taken a pause from wearing pencils and converted to liquid ones because I found one that doesn’t budge one bit. However, I’m willing to give this a try.

Masterpiece Max Mascara (Php 695, 7.2 ml) - “This mascara will give you big, bold and dramatically volumized lashes without the clumps. It’s amazing formula provides 400% more volume versus your bare lashes helping you create superb volume and exceptional definition for your eyes.”

I haven’t found a mascara that extremely volumizes my lashes so let’s see if this will give me fluttering lashes than spider looking ones.

Colour Collection Lipstick in English Rose (Php 595, 3.5g) - “Its rich formula contains ingredients such as shea butter, green tea extract and Vitamin E. Moisture is locked in and the lip colour lasts hour after hour, so not only does the lipstick look good, it feels good on your lips as well.”

This shade is something I’d wear for the office or during the day. It’s not too pink though it seems to have a frost finish.

Glossfinity Nail Polish in Noisette (Php 245, 10 ml) - “Create a nail look with flair using this glossy, long-wear nail polish. Its brush and formula were designed to help you make your own flawless, weekly signature style statement.”

I normally wear reds, muted pink, nude, french tips on rare occasions I decide to treat my nails. However, the purple and gold combo is very festive and the week-long life is promising.

Bonus: Facefinity All Day Flawless3-in-1 Foundation (Php 925, 30 ml) - “The 3-in-1 foundation provides a long-lasting finish through its clever, “hold, correct and finish” – technology. It has high coverage, matte finish that sits comfortably on your skin because of its flexi-hold formula.”

I got 2 shades – 1 Beige 55 and 1 Golden 75. It seems like a nice foundation to have. But will see if it does what it claim to do.

That’s all for this unboxing post! I think this is a great year-ender beauty box. It contains mostly sample products but enough for your to enjoy. Well, except for the Creme Puff Pressed Powder that came in full-size so yay for us! I hope you got the right shade for your skin!I also like that the combination of product is holistic that you can actually make a look – or your signature look – out of it. Lastly, it’s also a great way to test out Max Factor products, if you haven’t yet. Like me!

Thank you always to the awesome BDJ Team for sending this over and including the FMN Focus/Finish List Journal! A merry Christmas indeed!
