Good news Indianapolis readers! The Whale of a Sale Children’s Consignment Spring Sale Event is coming to the Indiana State Fairgrounds April 28 – May 3, 2014!
Whale of a Sale: Children’s Consignment Spring Event
WHAT:
Courtney O’Neil and Jennifer Hare, Butler University alums and Carmel moms, are the founders of the sale, started in 2009. O’Neil says they enjoy being able to provide local families a, “fun, fashionable and clean bargain-hunting experience,” and that Whale of a Sale is “…NOT a garage sale – expect upscale finds.” In fact, Whale of a Sale was voted the #1 consignment sale in Indianapolis form Indy’s Child Parenting Magazine readers.
Two public shopping days and two private pre-sale days accommodate thousands of customers. More than 500 consignors (sign up to be one yourself!) will bring 55,000+ items and six football fields worth of new and gently-used children’s and maternity clothing to this year’s Whale of a Sale Spring Sale Event.
The event features popular brands like Gymboree, Gap, Ralph Lauren, Peg Perego, Graco, Fisher Price, Pottery Barn Kids, Leapfrog, Carter’s, Maclaren, Joovy, and many more. You can also expect to find upscale spring and summer clothes, toys, furniture, bedding, accessories, bikes, outdoor toys, maternity, and other kid-related goods.
WHY CONSIGN?:
Many parents (and grandparents) love consigning because not only does it mean clearing out their homes of clutter and storage, it means making money! Consignors price their items and drop them off ahead of time and need not be present at the sale. They receive 60 percent of their total sales and the opportunity to receive up to 75 percent by volunteering! Consignors receive two passes to shop the private pre-sale Wednesday, April 30 as well. The average consignor earns $378. Unsold clothing can be donated to charity partner Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County and Jordan’s Place for foster children.
WHY ATTEND?:
Kids grow out of clothes much too fast. Bikes and trikes are outgrown. It just makes sense to get great stuff for less.
