Influence Asia 2017 heads to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 6-9 April 2017,after a successful inaugural show in Singapore in 2015. Influence Asia aims to gather the Asia’stop 252 social media influencers for the largest live social media awards show slated to be streamed live on 8th April 2017.Influence Asia 2017 is organized by influencer marketing and media company Gushcloud,hosted by Yello Digital Marketing (Korea) and presented by the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board.



For 2017, a total of 252 nominees will be participating in the event, an increase compared to 180 participants in 2015. The nominees from the seven countries, Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines will vie for top awards in the following nine categories: Beauty, Lifestyle, Fashion, Parenting, Food, Health & Fitness, YouTube Channel, YouTube Personality, and Breakout Influencer. Seven top influencers from the countries will be crowned The Influencer of the Year of their countries respectively.

The Indonesian judging will commence on 14th February 2017, where esteemed judges within the Indonesian advertising and brands industry will gather to judge the top 135 nominees Indonesian nominees, narrowing it down to 36 official nominees who will receive invitations to the show. These 36 nominees will represent the Top 4 in the following nine categories. The judging panel includes Ms Diana Riaya (Media Manager, Beiersdorf), Aldrich Gopal (Marketing Manager – Haircare, PnG Indonesia), Mr Dwiangga Satrya (Country Media Manager, Nestle Indonesia), Mr Bernando Tampubolon (Head of Marketing, Glico Wings), and Mr Agustini Rahayu (Deputy Director – International Marketing Communications, Ministry of Tourism, Republic of Indonesia).



“The judges are picked for their expertise and their commitment towards spending into the social media influencers industry for Indonesia. Because of their commitment, this young industry will grow into a sustainable, legitimate and professional industry. Throughout 2016, many influencers have told us how their jobs are becoming more sustainable because of their wins at Influence Asia.” Mr Oddie Randa, Managing Director, Gushcloud Indonesia said.

We want the Influencers and Content Creators to know and understand that they have a huge responsibility because many of the younger and future generations of today and tomorrow watch and read a lot of the content they create. Hence, Influence Asia serves as a platform to celebrate individual and group efforts to create strong and positive content,” said Ms Althea Lim, Executive Producer of Influence Asia 2017.



Notable Indonesian Influencers like Mr Arief Muhammad and Mr Chandra Liow are nominated for the YouTube Personality and YouTube Channel categories. Influencers and Celebrities like Etha Mohede and Cinta Ruhama are also nominated for the Parenting category. And new entries like 17 year old Salshabilaar and 15 year old Darin Al- Athrus known for their YouTube content, and Instagram content respectively made into the Breakout Influencer category.

Influence Asia 2017 will also feature different regional and international performances the various countries in Southeast Asia, Korea and America. The show will also feature award presenters who are top influencers in their fields, namely Carli Bybel (US), Bubzbeauty (US), Shannon (NZ), Jerome Jarre (CAN), Timothy Delaghetto (US) and Lilymaymac (AUS). Tulus will be representing Indonesia for the regional performance.

Fai Francis, show producer of Influence Asia 2017 also added, “We are hoping that this year’s Influence Asia will not only legitimise the importance of this industry but also to propel it further into the digital marketing scene in the Asian region.
