Ruffles, ruffles everywhere or so it seems. For SS17, fashion's love affair with femininity has definitely been seen, particularly in the form of ruffles. If it's not ruffles, then its time for a rethink. This fashion week, dresses dominated the catwalks, ruffles ruled and pink was certainly the hottest colour. As someone who loves pink in every shade, this is music to my ears. I don't know about you but pink is a colour that makes me happy - it's the colour of my favourite Peony flower, the colour of candy floss, strawberry ice cream and the SATC box set. All of which have the ability to cheer me up when I'm feeling down.

I used to have a love-hate relationship with ruffles. Partly because I associated them with something you'd find on your grandmas dated blouse (sorry Nanny). Oh how the times have changed because I now love the feminine touch they bring to pretty much any outfit. It probably comes as no surprise that I love a good pastel hue so naturally I loved this jumper the moment I saw it. Personally, there is nothing that epitomises spring time more than a hint of pastel and it can be the easiest way to transition your wardrobe nicely into spring. With next to no effort might I add. Will ruffles be a trend that will stick? Who knows but for now I'm very much enjoying the feminine touch they are bringing to my spring/summer wardrobe.

For a while now, I've been on the hunt for an alternative to skinny jeans. Once a skinny jean wearer through and through I now tend to favour a looser, more laid back type of denim. With that said when I stumbled upon these ASOS high waisted jeans I thought I should give them a go and I'm so pleased I did. The 'Farleigh' jean is a high waisted mom style denim, without the bagginess which can often be unflattering with this cut. I particularly like that they are more fitted on the leg whilst keeping that I'm wearing my 'mom' (s) jeans. The shade is also lighter than your standard denim wash making these perfect for the months ahead. Don't get me wrong I do love a black wash jean but they can often feel far too wintery especially when it feels like they've been glued to your legs over the past few months. Don't you agree?

Will you be experimenting with ruffles this SS17? You can be as adventurous with the trend as you like but why not opt for something ruffled and pink like the jumper worn in today's post? I'll let you into a little secret which you won't quite believe, it's just £10!
