Using reclaimed wood can be a great way to add some rustic character to your home. But if you’re dealing with old & dirty wood, you first need to clean it up so it’s safe to bring inside your home. Here are the supplies and steps you need to clean reclaimed wood.

Supplies:

Reclaimed wood

Clean rags

Wire brush

Orbital Sander

Wood finishing product

Directions:

Clean with wire brush

Sand with coarse and fine sandpaper

Coat with finishing product

Now that your reclaimed wood is all cleaned up, it’s time to use it creatively as a wall accent.

Supplies:

Prepped reclaimed wood

2-2.5″ screws

Drill

Spacers

Wood glue

Directions for Planked Walls:

Measure boards

Drill pilot hole

Screw into Studs

Directions for Chevron Accent Piece:

Mark center

Cut at 45 degree angle

Attach to base using screws and wood glue
