This week’s Nocturnal Journal starts off with legendary “word jazz” man Ken Nordine who talks to Dave Hoekstra about his lengthy career.

We head out on the Nocturnal Journey to Kentucky where we talk to Theresa Shea, owner of Tea Bayou, a cafe displaced by Hurricane Katrina only to rise from the ashes in Bowling Green.

Marya Veeck, daughter of the legendary Bill Veeck stops by to talk about her exhibit at August House Studio, “Birds I Have Known” featuring hand-crafted bird houses by over 70 Chicago artists.

We finish off with live music from bluesman Voo Davis and his band.  Davis talks about the upcoming release party for “Midnight Mist” at Two Brothers Roundhouse; friend of the show Otis Clay sits in.
