(WFLA) — Yep, you read that right. Starbucks for Life is back for the third year and runs through January 16. WFLA News Channel 8’s Lila Gross has all details on how to get this awesome treat.
If you’re a winner, you’ll get a daily credit for one food or beverage item, every day, for 30 years. But, the credits expire daily and they are not eligible for alcoholic beverages.
Starbucks said the grand prize is worth an estimated $54,000.
How to win:
Collect all the game pieces in a row on a digital game board by making purchases with your registered Starbucks card or mobile app. Then you can redeem plays (collect digital pieces) by logging onto starbucksforlife.com.
Starbucks said, “Members can complete challenges found within the game to earn extra game plays. Examples of challenges include “Jump the Line,” which rewards customers for making a purchase via mobile order, and “Hot Streak,” which provides three extra plays if a purchase is made five days in a row. Also new this year is the ability to trade three duplicate game pieces for one new game play.”
You can also potentially win other offers. Starbucks explains the four exclusive offers:
Starbucks for Life:
The winner will receive a daily credit for 30 years for one free food or beverage item redeemable at participating Starbucks® stores in the U.S. Alcoholic beverages excluded. Winner must present a registered Starbucks Card. Credits are non-transferable and expire within 24 hours.
Starbucks for a Year:
The winner will receive a daily credit to his/her Account for one (1) year (three hundred sixty-five (365) days) for one (1) free food or standard menu beverage item (excluding alcoholic beverages) redeemable at participating Starbucks stores in the U.S. Food and beverage credits expire daily.
Starbucks for a Month:
The winner will receive a daily credit to his/her Account for one (1) month (thirty-one (31) days) for one (1) free food or standard menu beverage (excluding alcoholic beverages) item redeemable at participating Starbucks stores in the U.S. Food and beverage credits expire daily.
Starbucks for a Week:
The winner will receive a daily credit to his/her Account for one (1) week (seven (7) days) for one (1) free food or standard menu beverage item (excluding alcoholic beverages) redeemable at participating Starbucks stores in the U.S. Food and beverage credits expire daily.
Only seven lucky customers – five in the U.S. and two in Canada – will win the grand prize of Starbucks for Life. But, 45 customers will win Starbucks for a Year. 250 customers will win Starbucks for a Month and 800 customers will win Starbucks for a Week.

“Previous winners include David, of Sacramento County, California, who used to always order an Iced Americano with peppermint and extra ice, but now vows to “try everything on the menu.” Larry, from Chicago, is actually a tea drinker and now orders a trenta unsweetened iced green tea every day. Mary, of Portland, Oregon, who usually orders a Grande No-Whip Peppermint Mocha or a dark roast, but sometimes she’ll buy a breakfast sandwich for a homeless person, she tells the company (right on, Mary!). In the past, winners have also received a 10k hammered-gold card, worth $5,000 in itself.”
