TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The MTV Video Music Awards are almost here, and I cannot wait for all of the performances, fashion, and most of all — the winners!

This year’s most iconic artists will be awarded the precious MTV moon man.

MTV’s biggest honor, the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award,” will go to Rihanna for her decade-long influence on music, film, pop culture, fashion and philanthropy. Rihanna is also slated to perform at the event.

No host has been announced yet, but I have some ideas of who it could be. Check out all of my predictions for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

Video of the Year: Justin Bieber

Video of the Year will obviously be the toughest and closest category to call.

Historically, the women usually rule this category with Justin Timberlake being the only guy in the last nine years to win, back in 2013.

But, Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” video was the start of his amazing comeback this year, and the MTV VMAs are all his fans can talk about, so he’s bound to get the most votes in this category.

Clearly, the Justin’s are destroying the game.

Best Female Video: Adele

Best Female Video has to go to the video with over a billion views. Yes, literally a billion views.

By comparison, Beyoncé’s video nominated against Adele’s in this category only has over a million views.

Adele swept the world away this year with her incredible comeback and her fans have basically already dubbed her the winner.

Best Male Video: Kanye

Drake’s “Hotline Bling” became an instant phenomenon, and Kanye’s “Famous” was about as brutally honest as it gets — not like I’m surprised, it is Kanye.

But, Kanye’s 10-minute video engages audiences from start to finish and we’re still talking about it.

So, I have to say I think Kanye will nail this one.

Best Long Form Video: Beyonce

I also think the Breakthrough Long Form Video category will be won by the Queen herself.

My vote has to go Beyoncé because “Lemonade” pretty much captured the entire world, plus made everyone hate that girl Becky with the good hair.

But Bieber is in the category as well so, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Best New Artist: DNCE

Being a newcomer can be quite intimidating, but Best New Artist can only go to one.

The pop-rock band D-N-C-E is bound to win because they’ve had a huge year with the release of their infectious double single, “Cake by the Ocean” and opening for Selena Gomez on her Revival Tour.

Best Collaboration: Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna

And last but not least we have the nominations for best collaboration.

I am desperately hoping Calvin Harris and Rihanna seal the deal with their song “This is What you Came For.”

If this happens, it means Taylor Swift basically wins too since she contributed to the collaboration when her and the DJ were dating.

But, rumors are flying that she may make an appearance regardless — as the host.

If T-Swift takes on the job she will have some big shoes to fill after the show Miley Cyrus put on last year.

I am so stoked to watch the 2016 MTV VMAs! Join me on my Facebook page starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 28 for exclusive coverage on what’s going down during the MTV Video Music Awards.
