A major road construction project could start next year in our area. The Courier reports ODOT officials say the widening of I-75 through Findlay could be moved up to 2016; if the money is there. During Monday’s construction season kick off meeting, ODOT District 1 Deputy Director Kirk Slusher said they would like to start the project earlier than 2017. Slusher adds they are looking at funding opportunities.

The widening of the interstate would make I-75 three lanes from just south of Findlay to County Road 99. The State Route 15 / U.S. 68 interchange would be replaced as well.

As for this construction season, we’ll see plenty of road resurfacing. Expect to see orange barrels on State Route 12 from Arcadia to Fostoria, parts of State Route 18 in Fostoria, and State Route 613 from McComb to I-75. Repaving on U.S. 224 in Findlay has already been announced for this year.
