Findlay’s Center for Autism and Dyslexia, a specialized school program which also has a location in Lima, has been purchased by a New Jersey company. The schools serve about 140 students with autism, dyslexia, and other special needs.
Catapult Learning Inc. said today it bought the schools on June 29. Its schools division includes schools and programs designed for special education students classified with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as at-risk students requiring alternative education programming, including both transitional programs and dropout prevention/recovery programs.
The Findlay and Lima schools are Catapult Learning’s first Ohio-based autism program and second special education acquisition in the past three months. Catapult Learning, based in Camden, New Jersey, said the two schools’ “leadership and staff will remain in place, joining a nationwide network of more than 5,000 educators providing services across Catapult Learning’s programs.”
