The Brooklyn hip hop, Pro Era, drops their new, “sample free” EP “The Shift.The EP features include Joey Bada$$, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, Dessy Hinds, Jakk The Rhymer, Dirty Sanchez, Roka Mouth, A La $ole, Dyemond Lewis, and CJ Fly on the quick tape, with production from Kirk Knight, Roka Mouth, Powers Pleasant and Backpack.
Though Pro Era is known for their love of early 1990s hip-hop, this EP is a sonic shift for them. Lead track ‘Extortion’ features verses from members Dyemond Lewis and Kirk Knight, who also produced the ‘OG Bobby Johnson’-influenced beat.
Joey Bada$$ is set to release his debut solo album this autumn, following last year’s Summer Knights EP and mixtape, while his recent single ‘Two Lips’ saw him rapping over a previously unreleased Dilla beat.
