Weston-super-Mare AFC will be looking to extend their extraodinary start to the league season and get more points on the board as they welcome Dartford to The Woodspring Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

With the Seagulls sitting joint-top of the league with Hungerford, albeit top on goal difference, the Seagulls will be looking for a platform to build on and despite Tuesday’s setback after a 0-0 draw with Poole Town, players like Jake Mawford, Shawn McCoulsky and Joe McClennan will be determined to prove that Weston deserve to be top of the league.

At the other end of the spectrum, Saturday’s opponents Dartford will have a big battle on their hands to try and move up the table as a quickly as possible. The Darts currently sit 17th in the National League South, with three draws coming against Wealdstone, Chelmsford and Gosport Borough. Their only loss of the season came with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Whitehawk.

The last affair between the two sides came at The Woodspring Stadium in March, 2015, where former Seagulls striker Scott Wilson netted a brace to help Weston to a 2-1 victory.

When asked about Saturday’s encounter, Head Coach Ryan Northmore responded, “We trained well on Thursday and there is plenty of confidence flowing through the squad at the moment. I am pleased with the start but that’s all it is”.

Available Squad: Barnes, Dowling, Fortune, Grubb, Ingram, Kington, Mawford, McClennan, McCoulsky, Meechan, Mullings, Pope, Powell, Purnell, Richards, Simpson, Williams, Wring.
