The NY Art Book Fair, organised by Printed Matter and hosted by MoMA PS1, is the largest fair of its kind, held as the world’s premier event for artists’ books, catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines from all over the world.
Lugemik is a small independent publishing initiative in Tallinn, Estonia, founded in 2010 by graphic designer Indrek Sirkel and artist Anu Vahtra. Lugemik publishes small editions of books and other printed matter, working closely together with artists, writers, designers and printers in every step of the publishing process.
Anu Vahtra’s artists’ book “Untitled” documents ten of her projects that focus on photography and large-scale spatial installation, dealing with space, awareness of space and its characteristics, the border between the second and the third dimension.
The first publication on the work of Dutch power trio Experimental Jetset features almost two decades of graphic design praxis. Rather than a monolithic monograph, it is a very loose, personal archive, with essays by Linda van Deursen, Mark Owens, and Ian Svenonius, plus two photographic chapters with a selection of work by the studio.
Experimental Jetset is a small, independent, Amsterdam-based graphic design studio, founded in 1997 by (and still consisting of) Marieke Stolk, Erwin Brinkers and Danny van den Dungen.
Figures in Air is a new book that will be presented by emerging artist and theorist Micah Silver, whose practice elaborates on the impact of audio on human behavior and social space. Silver’s research ranges from Meillassoux and a triangulation of audio’s trans-substance, to Yves Klein’s Air Architecture, through La Monte Young’s Dream House, and culminates in a discussion of historically significant audio systems and their importance as ephemeral social architectures made of air.
Werkplaats Typografie course participants present their project YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: Questions on materiality and value. ‘You may also like’ employs the language of an online shop as a platform for selling physical items through a strictly non-physical path.
Werkplaats Typografie (WT), located in Arnhem, was founded in 1998 by Karel Martens and Wigger Bierma as an experiment in graphic design education based on a combination of practical assignments and self-initiated projects.
