Eat Like a Star!

When Hollywood A-listers want to slim down for the red carpet, lose the baby weight, or simply feel fabulous, they turn to celebrity nutritionist Cynthia Pasquella.

Cynthia has worked with Tinsel Town’s finest, including Sandra Bullock and Blake Lively.

If you’re looking to shed a few pounds, or feel healthier, take a bite out of these celebrity food trends!

Flawless Skin: It’s a necessity that celebrities have clear, glowing skin. One thing they do to ensure they’re always ‘camera ready’ is drink green juices. Green juice is very alkalizing to the body, and alkalizing foods help to prevent skin blemishes. When your body’s PH is in balance, you will truly glow! Externally, pH plays a fundamental role in the skin’s barrier, as a healthy barrier functions like an invisible veil that keeps the good stuff (lipids, moisture) in and the bad stuff (pollution, bacteria) out.

Nicole Richie is a huge fan of green juicing and one of her favorites includes the ingredients we have here. All of these ingredients are very alkaline-rich.

Green Juice:

1 small handful parsley

2 apples

1 handful spinach

2 stalks romaine

1 cucumber

1 lemon

1/2 inch piece ginger

High Energy: Having boundless energy is a must for celebs because they have insanely busy schedules. To make sure they are able to keep up, they turn to foods like quinoa. Quinoa is a ‘supergrain’ and considered to be a complete food. It’s packed with protein to help you boost and sustain energy for hours. In fact, 2012 is the year of the quinoa! Jennifer Aniston is a huge fan of quinoa, and you should be too! The best part is, you can have it for breakfast, with fruit and milk of your choice, or you can make an energy boosting salad with your favorite veggies and seasonings. It’s so versatile!

Quinoa Salad:

Cucumber

Tomato

Avocado

Olive Oil

Lemon Juice

Salt & Pepper

Healthy Teeth: Celebrities all have million dollar smiles and two of their secrets to healthy teeth and gums is probably in your kitchen right now.

Sesame & Sunflower Oils: There’s an ancient Ayervedic technique called “Oil Pulling.” This technique pulls toxins out of the body through the mouth, gets rid of bad bacteria and helps boost gum health while whitening your teeth. Believe it or not, all you need is a shot of sesame oil or sunflower oil.

After brushing your teeth, place one tablespoon of preferred oil in the mouth on an empty stomach. Close mouth. Slowly “pull” the oil by swishing it all over the teeth and gums. The process ensures all toxins will be trapped in the oil so you can safely remove them from the body. DO NOT SWALLOW THE OIL! It contains toxins that have been released and you do not want these in your body.

Fresh Mint & Parsley: You can also maintain healthy teeth by chewing on Fresh Mint & Parsley. Both contain chlorophyll which has antibacterial properties. Mint will also give your fresh breath while the texture of parsley acts as a mini toothbrush to help get rid of tiny food particles and keep your gums and teeth healthy.

Lettuce: Leafy greens are rich in calcium to help keep teeth strong and healthy. They also contain folic acid to help prevent gingivitis.

Keep the Weight Off!: Hollywood has moved on from the processed whey protein shakes and instead are embracing hemp shakes. They are using it in their protein shakes to help keep them slim and trim but to also boost energy and give them glowing skin. Hemp is extremely unique because it’s a complete protein, packed with fiber and keeps them full for hours while also stabilizing blood sugar to prevent cravings.

Hemp Shake:

Coconut milk

Banana

Frozen blueberries

Hemp Powder
