The innovative digiDo project, which is based at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth, has just announced a brand new catalogue of digital content for businesses. The digiDo project is intended to encourage creative businesses in Wales to see the potential and wealth in historic collections and enable them to compete locally and globally. In the past, businesses have used the library’s digital collections to create jewellery and accessories, Apps, TV programmes and books.
“The creation of an online catalogue of materials is an important and exciting step” said a spokesman for digiDo. “It offers great opportunities for the business community by allowing businesses of all types to search and browse through over 20,000 items which have already have been digitised and are now to be found online” he said.
The new digiDo catalogue includes a variety of items, such the Geoff Charles photographic collection, early maps, etchings and drawings from the Welsh Landscape collection and a photographic collection of soldiers from the First World War. A host of other collections will be added to the catalogue over the coming months. For businesses and individuals that are located within the convergence areas of Wales, high quality copies of the images can be requested for free to use commercially.
The catalogue adds to the resources and services that digiDo already offers to businesses, including support and training on aspects such as creating websites, online marketing and helping businesses develop an equality strategy.
