**RN Clinical Nurse \- Cardiac Telemetry/Cardiac Heart Failure**

Come develop your nursing cardiac experience and advance your career by caring for the heart failure patient population\. Our 30 bed Cardiac Telemetry Heart Failure unit is one of few designated cardiac units in the Atlanta Metropolitan area that is a Joint Commission Certified Heart Failure Unit\. Our patient population requires expert and personalized patient and family centered care\. Through the use of a Standard of Care Pathway specific for the heart failure patients, all patients receive the same level of quality care\. To further improve patient outcomes physicians and nurses have an on\-going collaborative relationship\. This approach is made possible by performing daily heart failure rounds on the unit at the same time each day Monday through Friday\. Our expert heart failure team includes: cardiac physician, advanced nurse practitioner, charge nurse, clinical nurse leader, registered clinical nurse, patient and family\. To provide quality and efficient nursing care to our patients and families our unit has a dedicated clinical nurse educator, clinical nurse leader, care coordinator, pharmacist, and dietician\. Furthermore, Advanced Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants are available on the unit during the week daytime hours to improve patient outcomes, deliver appropriate and safe care, and provide real time resources for nurses\. Our strong collaborative relationship with our Advanced Heart Failure Clinic located on site, with expert cardiologists and advanced nurse practitioners provides our patients with additional resources to prevent readmissions post discharge\. There are many educational opportunities including an 8 hour Baseline Heart Failure Course with CEUs available, This course uses a multidisciplinary approach that involves instructors from various disciplines including; cardiac physician, dietician, pharmacist, heart failure expert nurse, and care coordination\. Other educational opportunities include Cardiovascular Medication Usage Course, monthly journal article/case studies, and monthly unit in\-services in relation to heart failure patient population\. To help improve medication usage and compliance to reduce readmission rates with our heart failure patient population our dedicated Pharmacist D\. is available during weekdays to educate patients prior to discharge on home medications\. Nurses will gain a wealth of expert knowledge and experience through administration of multiple cardiac drips including Cardizem, Natrecor, Amiodorone, and many other cardiovascular infusions and providing care for a patient population with multiple co\-morbidities, Our unit also utilize the latest and advanced electronic documentation system EPIC which allows all healthcare providers to have access to patient information to formulate an accurate plan of care to deliver safe, dependable and effective care\. Nursing has a voice on the unit with our Unit Based Shared Governance that allows for changes to be instituted on the unit that improves workflow processes that will positively impact nursing care\. The RN Clinical Nurse – Emergency Department is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care\. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the WellStar Shared Governance Model\. The framework for practice is steered by the WellStar Professional Practice Model, 5\-Star Nursing and evidence based practice and research\. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the WellStar Core Competencies\.

It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses –Emergency Services are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association\. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals\.

**Required Minimum Education:** Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree in nursing \(BSN\) from an accredited school of nursing preferred; National certification in area of specialty preferred

**Required Minimum Licensure/Certification:** Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia; Must have a current ACLS and BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position\.

**Required Minimum Experience:** Experience with direct patient care preferred\.

**Required Minimum Skills:** Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills\.
