Last year I shared an extensive list of Puget Sound area Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes with you. I thought I’d do the same again this year in case you are hoping to take your family. A few of these farms offer up U-pick apples, too. Remember that apples on actual farms are much more seasonal than apples in stores. Always call ahead as hours and availability can change.

Keep an eye on website for pumpkin hours. (The photo above was taken at a family visit to Remlinger Farms this summer. It’s a great location for the little ones in particular.)

Inquire about school tour groups. Family-owned and operated for over 50 years. Pumpkin patch open daily 9:30am – 6pm in October.

Kitsap & Mason Counties

Pheasant Fields Farm. (13274 clear creek Road NW, Silverdale, 360-697-6224). This farm was not listed in this year’s 2013 Farm Guide. Here is the information I have from last year: Offers U-pick pumpkins and has a pumpkin and apple slingshot. The guide mentions that their woods and corn maze become “haunted” in October, so if you have little ones, you might wish to inquire about the scary factor before visiting. I did check out their website today and notice they say military can save $1 on all fall events by presenting military ID at the farm.

Restoration Ranch. (20192 clear creek Road NW, Poulsbo, 360-399-6293). Offers U-pick pumpkin patch and “fun trivia” corn maze. Enjoy a cup of cocoa while sitting by the fire pit. See the “Corn Maze” tab on their website for more information and special corn maze events.

Pierce County

Little Eorthe Farm. (21415 Orville Road East, Orting, 253-691-4921). Farm appears to sell pumpkins, but no information was found on their website about this or in the 2013 Farm Guide. I’d call if you’re interested. Sustainably & organically grown produce, meat, and eggs.

Maris Farms. (25001 Sumner-Buckley Hwy, Buckley, WA 98321; 253-377-3574). Offers a Hawks 12th Man-themed corn maze for 2013, zombie party, pumpkin patch, free hayride, and more. See website for details and hours.

Scholz Farms. (12920 State Route 162 East, Orting, 253-848-7604). Offers U-pick pumpkins, school tours, and corn maze. Fourth-generation working farm. We’ve personally gone here a few years in a row for preschool field trips – it’s a great place to choose if you’re looking for something that’s a little less busy. Also ideal for field trips.

Spooner Farms. (9710 State Route 162 East, Puyallup, 253-840-2059). Family-owned farm since 1882. Offers a variety of U-pick pumpkins, squash, and gourds. Open 9am-5pm in October. They also have a corn maze, hayride, animals, and more. The picture above was from our visit last year. Word to the wise, this popular pumpkin patch can get VERY busy. So plan on packing some patience when you go, get there early, or opt for a bit of a quieter experience at Scholz Farms just up the street (see above).

Tahoma Farms. (21108 Orville Road East, Orting, 253-314-8813). Certified organic farm that supplies produce to Terra Organics for home delivery. I see they’ve got pumpkins noted on the chart, but am not sure if they have them U-pick. Inquire for more details.

Terry’s Berries. (4520 River Road, Tacoma, 253-922-1604). Offers U-pick apples in October. I know this is a popular fall spot for many of you and last year we had the chance to visit – but it was late in the season. Your best bet is to follow them on Facebook and/or call each day for an update on the apple status. Terry’s Berries is open year round and is a certified organic farm. They also accept fall farm tours for school children.

Skagit County

Cascadian Farm. (55749 State Route 20, Rockport). Certified organic farm that offers pumpkin patch in October. See website for more information including hours.

Shambala Permaculture Farm & Nursery. (395 E North Camano Drive, Arlington/Camano, 360-387-4110). Permaculture farm offering display gardens, farm animal tours, and seasonal organic produce. I noticed on their website that they are offering weekly cider-press Saturdays through October – just bring your apples and jugs and a suggested donation. According to the 2013 Farm Guide, they sell pumpkins, but I’m not sure if they have a pumpkin patch you can wander through. Sounds like a neat place though – I’d just recommend you give them a call.

Will you be visiting a Puget Sound farm this harvest season? Any traditions your family has for harvest time? And, if you’ve visited and can vouch for any of the farms noted above, I’d love it if you would consider leaving a comment for other pumpkin-patch goers!
