Only Daniel Wingate can unveil the reasons why he get inspired by the art of James Turell for the Escada fall- winter 2014 collection. It may be the fascination of light phenomenon, the core search of a place for human being in the universe, o simply the admiration of the sensorial experiences of the american artist that invite to silent contemplation and meditation. Art and fashion keep an abstract, intangible relation that only talented designers can see and manifest into palpable reality.

Solo el mismísimo Daniel Wingate podría revelar las razones por las que se inspiro en el arte de James Turell para la colección otoño-invierno 2014 de Escada. Quizás fue su fascinación por el fenómeno de la luz o la búsqueda interior del lugar del ser humano en el universo, o simplemente le conquisto alguna de las experiencias sensoriales provocadas por las grandiosas obras del artista americano que invitan a la contemplación silenciosa y la meditación. El arte y la moda, mantienen una relación abstracta, intangible que los grandes diseñadores traducen en una realidad palpable.
This fall Escada comes through with vibrant colors – coral-red and emerald-green – while silhouettes play with new volumes – circle midi length skirts, pants that accentuate the soft curves of woman´s waist and nipped waistlines in blazers. Floral prints and the black & white binomial are also present.
I keep finding parallelism with Turrel´s work, that often incorporates extensions of oceans, deserts, cities …

Este otoño Escada propone colores vibrantes – rojo coral y verde esmeralda – y las siluetas juegan con nuevos volúmenes – faldas circulares midi, pantalones que marcan las curvas femeninas, chaquetas con cinturas entalladas. Presentes están también los estampados florales y el clásico binomio blanco y negro. Sigo encontrando paralelismos con las creaciones de Turrel que a veces incorporan extensiones de océanos, desiertos, ciudades …

The animal print bag is the star of my first outfit. Leopard print is my perennial favorite, often present in my style and season after season also in Escada´s collections. This irresistible attraction is the invisible thread that connects my Escada-fashion-fantasies. And if today was a shopping story, I will see you next time in the office.

Mi primera elección deja el protagonismo al bolso de estampado animal. Casi siempre presente en mis looks y temporada tras temporada, seña de identidad de Escada. La atracción por el animal print se ha convertido en el hilo conductor de mis fantasías y si hoy ha sido una historia de shopping, la próxima vez nos encontraremos en la oficina.
