Critic Reviews Jaggu Dada

Bangalore Mirror | Review By -Shyam Prasad S Rating-4/10

The story had all the potential to become a fun riot. There were situations aplenty for it. But the film is unnecessarily long with additions and plot twists that seem like an afterthought. Whatever entertaining elements present are diluted in the long-drawn outing. Jaggu Dada may still enthuse fans of the star, but for the rest, it could be an underwhelming experience.

Cine Sinchana | Review By -Raju Shanbhag Rating-3/10

The film’s extravaganza is in your face. It wastes an actor of Anant Nag’s caliber in a bit role which any Tom Dick and Harry would have played in their sleep. Ditto for Achyut Rao, and to some extent, even for Ravi Shankar. Deeksha Seth is in most frames of the movie and she does well to look believable. Darshan appears to have put on some weight. But when you can put your weight behind such a moronic film and still ensure a gigantic opening, hardly anybody cares.

The Hindu | Review By -Archana Nathan

Hyper-masculine aggression? Check. Asinine comedy? Check. Ample misogyny? Double Check. In the name of a ‘wholesome entertainer’, Raghavendra Hegde’s Jaggu Dada is actually a torturer’s paradise. You have to not just tolerate endless and noisy action sequences that are mere excuses to show off Darshan’s tiger tattoo, but also sit through gags that do not evoke laughter.

Deccan Chronicle | Review By -Shashiprasad SM Rating-4/10

Ever since challenging star's movies started misfiring, almost all his ventures have been a real challenge to survive for the larger audience minus his 'die-hard' fans. This time, it comes with the label 'comedy' and by the end of it, it is nothing short of a laughing stock. This senseless commercial comedy encashes on stardom.
