Japandroids

Japandroids are still set to play. This Canadian band is incredibly popular in Minneapolis, apparently, selling out both their shows (why not do a 'triple' Triple Rock show?) …

Craig Finn

Craig Finn, singer/guitarist/front man of The Hold Steady, will open the show. The last time we saw The Hold Steady at the Weesner Amphitheatre in 2014 and at Midway Stadium in 2014

at First Avenue

What are you up to on V-Day? Take your loved ones to see Japandroids at First Avenue.

We saw Japandroids in December 2012 and wrote, “Japandroids started off their set with a big F.U. to Vita.MN, who summed it up in their header, "Japandroids' first night good, not great." I wasn't at Friday's show; all I know is that Saturday's show rocked. HARD. The duo exploded on stage, sweating and bleeding into every epic song as the lights flash and singer/guitarist Brian King bounced all over the stage.”

Former local legend and hero, Craig Finn (bill as Craig Finn & The Uptown Controllers) will open. Based on numerous other shows we’ve seen Finn play, he often command a massive local fanbase.

Swedish singer Tove Lo is back in town on her “Lady Wood” tour (you know, the opposite of Man Wood?).

We described her last Minneapolis appearance as, “ ‘Run on Love’ is actually a song by fellow Swede Lucas Nord, featuring Lo, but Lo made the electronic song her own, and her biggest hit to date, ‘Habits (Stay High)’ ended the night with the crowd singing the chorus back to Lo and the band...”

The show is sold out, but if you have a ticket, definitely show up early to check out opener Phoebe Ryan. We previously mentioned that Ryan was on her Make America Dance Again 2016 Tour.

Ryan is hot off the heels of her chart-topping collaboration with The Chainsmokers on ‘All We Know’. She described the song as “It's about being in love with someone who may not necessarily be the best for you, but you're too deep in it to care.”

Tour Dates (all dates with Tove Lo):

02/10 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Novo

02/15 – Minneapolis, MN @ First Avenue

02/16 – Chicago, IL @ House Of Blues
