Miranda July

I remember the first time I saw Me and You and Everyone We Know, I couldn't get that "pooping back and forth" icon out of my head. So, that, in a nutshell, is what I thought of Miranda July, who wrote

MIRANDA JULY

at McGuire Theater

Thursday 10/30/14, 8pm

$30: walkerart.org

Not a typical music concert, but I thought I'd also mention that writer/filmmaker Miranda July will be at the McGuire Theater in Minneapolis as part of her performance of "New Society". She will also be appearing on Halloween at the McGuire if you cannot make it on Thursday.

Here is the description from the Walker's website:

Performer/writer/filmmaker Miranda July risks all with a unique experiment in collaboration. This hilarious and moving performance artfully blends fiction and real life in a startling chronicle of time, love, and group faith. On this very special night, July tests the limits of what is possible given two hours and a room full of strangers.

The Walker has had an ongoing relationship with the cross-disciplinary artist. Most recently, July’s second feature film The Future, praised by critics as “surreal, precious, devastating, and brilliant” (Playlist), had its area premiere at the Walker in 2011, after screenings at the Sundance and Berlin film festivals.
