The band’s name also seems to be the reaction from people who have seen them live, “…man, man!”
Man Man, the alt-experimentalists from Philadelphia are back on the road after a stint with Gogol Bordello, in support of their latest, last year’s On Oni Pond (ANTI- Records).
The phrase “expect the unexpected” is probably never more true, with leader Honus Honus, percussionist Pow Pow, and band serving up something memorable.
Arrive early, as NYC art rock band Landlady with Adam Schatz who plays in Man Man, opens the show promoting Upright Behavior (Hometapes 070).

Manchester pop is alive and well again, in the form of UK Pop/R&B foursome, Rixton.
After breaking through to radio with single “Me and My Broken Heart” and stints opening for Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, the band’s Interscope Records EP is setting the stage for an upcoming full-length.
How crazy are U.S. teens eager to see the band? – a recent NYC pop-up gig required police intervention to control the swelling crowds.
The Minneapolis show is in the south metro, at all-ages The Garage in Burnsville, with the lads scheduled to do a 2pm meet-and -greet earlier that day, at the FYE in Burnsville Center.

The Baseball Project
We've previously mentioned the supergroup The Baseball Project a few years ago, the band consists of Peter Buck (REM), Scott McCaughey (singer of The Young Fresh Fellows and The Minus 5), Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate), Linda Pitmon (Hazel Motes), and sometime Mike Mills (REM).
In support of their third album, called 3rd (Yep Roc Records), the band will be heading out on tour, stopping by Minneapolis' Cedar Cultural Center on August 11th.

Six-time Grammy-winning musician, artist and activist Ziggy Marley returns to the touring stage promoting Fly Rasta, on his own Tuff Gong Worldwide label. The new album blends his own reggae with rock, funk, soul and psychedelica, even adding sitar, tabla and taiko drums to his musical mix.
Local artist Young Ry, who once toured with Cyndi Lauper as member of The Rule, opens the evening under the stars at the Zoo in suburban Apple Valley.

Rock legends Pat Benatar & husband Neil Giraldo continue their 35th Anniversary Tour, with headlining gigs, co-headlining with Cheap Trick and Rick Springfield, and a stint opening in large arenas for Cher.
Benatar’s mezzo-soprano vocal range and Giraldo's guitars and production, have resulted in countless hits over the last three decades and the Zoo Amphitheater in Apple Valley should be an ideal outdoor venue for the couple who will no doubt, give it their Best Shot.

70s rockabilly punk band The Screamin' Sirens' Rosie Flores will be appearing at Lee's Liquor Lounge on August 14th.
In addition to the Lee's appearance, Flores will also be performing at Lowertown Guitar Festival (sharing the bill with Robben Ford) on August 9th (this Saturday)... The band goes on at 4pm, so arrive early.
PopDose compared Flores to Liz Phair and Kim Deal, as well as Wanda Jackson and Loretta Lynn.

Mexican acoustic rock guitar virtuoso duo Rodrigo y Gabriela are back on the road again in 2014, bringing their unique instrumental blend of metal, jazz and world music to audiences, in support of 9 Dead Alive (Rubyworks Records).
Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero have been playing together for more than fifteen years, first as thrash metal fans in their native Mexico City, then as ex-patriate street musicians in Dublin. Look for selections from all four studio albums, as well as hopefully a choicely executed cover song, or two.
Denver-based signer/songwriter Zach Heckdorf opens this guitar heavy evening.
