The toy market is flooded with so many options for our children. Sadly, many of these playthings are cheaply made with low quality parts and don't actually hold up well to being played with. Between my own daughter and my two nieces, we purchase quite a few toys each year. My goal is to stay away from these toys that don't last and buy things that can be played with for many years.
That is why I love Goblin Kids. This online toy store is filled to the brim with high-quality options for children of all ages. Think Haba toys, educational toys, and early learning toys-- that's exactly what you'll find at Goblin Kids!
Goblin Kids was developed by a mother who strove to provide natural and educational toys for her own son. She had grown frustrated with the plastic, battery operated playthings that do little to stimulate a child's imagination. She decided to open a toy store that would stay true to the belief that toys close to nature are longer lasting, more stimulating, better for nature and most importantly better for your kids.
What I love most about Goblin Kids is that I can easily shop for each child on my list and know that anything I choose will be wonderful. Since Goblin Kids has carefully selected each item that they sell, they have essentially weeded through all the "dud" toys for me!
It's easy to browse by category, age, brand, or even what's new in the shop. Raileigh will dance, even when no music is playing, and is quite infatuated with anything to do with music. So, I headed straight for the musical instruments. Oh my-- what bright, beautiful, and inviting options to choose from!
I was pretty much instantly smitten with the Banjo from Plan Toys. This banjo, designed for children ages 3 and up, is perfect for any little one. It's smaller in size, which is ideal for little hands. It features four strings which can easily be plucked or strummed to make a variety of notes and chords. It's great for both hand-eye coordination and auditory skills development.
Our banjo arrived and Raileigh immediately wanted to test it out. I don't blame her-- the bright red color is so fun and it definitely drew her attention to the instrument. The banjo is made from non-chemically treated rubber wood, non-toxic glues, safe water based dyes, and recycled as well as recyclable material.
Before this, I don't think that Raileigh has ever had a banjo or any other guitar-like instrument in her hands. So, we first had to show her how to hold it. Of course, she didn't always want to hold it the "proper" way and that's just fine! A great thing about the Plan Toys Banjo is that is allows her to safely explore music how she would like to.
I have been enjoying a beautiful musical sound coming from Raileigh's new banjo. No, it's not actually any song I've ever heard before, but it's her music. She loves it and she is having fun, and to me that is what's important.
I encourage you to browse the entire selection at Goblin Kids. I am certain you'll find many quality playthings {like wooden toys!} to share with your own children as well as the rest of the kids on your gift list.
