I am not one who is big on "resolutions". I do like to have goals, however, and often set them for myself throughout the year.
Recently, I decided that I am going to make sure that my husband gets out the door with breakfast each morning. On days that he goes in later, we often sit down to a nice, hot breakfast as a family. However, when he goes in early in the morning, my daughter and I are often still in bed when he leaves.
He's not going to make a lot of effort to make a meal for himself, so I know that breakfast must require little to no preparation.
That is why I am so excited about the Delicious Pairings duo that we discovered at Sam's Club {you can check out our entire shopping trip over on Google+}. We recently renewed our Sam's membership after a several month hiatus, and I am so glad that we did. I could spend a long time in there, just browsing. There are always a variety of new things to take in, and some old favorites as well.
One of my favorite areas of our local Sam's Club is the bakery. As soon as you enter this section of the store, delicious scents fill your nose. Everything looks so scrumptious and it makes my mouth water each and every time. On our recent trip, I picked up a box of the Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Rolls. Darren is absolutely smitten with cinnamon and often requests this flavor when I am baking. I knew that these cinnamon rolls would be the perfect grab-and-go breakfast for him.
I also picked up a bag of the Starbucks Limited Edition Holiday Blend Coffee. Neither of us have every really been coffee drinkers. Recently, though, we got a lovely new coffee maker, and Darren has been enjoying it more than ever. We've tried several coffee varieties so far, but I had yet to find one that he really enjoyed. So, I decided to give this one a try, in hopes that we had finally found a winner.
The Starbucks Limited Edition Holiday Blend Coffee is incredibly easy to prepare. There are directions on the side of the bag, which is nice for a coffee novice like myself. The cinnamon rolls are equally easy to prepare-- heat in the oven for 5 minutes. In just a few simple steps, we had a delicious breakfast all ready for my husband to enjoy.
So, what makes these two such a perfect delicious pairing? Well, the Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee is "sweet and spicy with hints of comfort and joy". The complementary flavors are ginger, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange and cloves. Naturally, this means that the coffee and Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Rolls from the Sam's Club Bakery are a perfect pair.
After doing a taste test, my husband certainly agrees. He tried the coffee alone, as it got done before our cinnamon rolls did. The taste was really quite good on it's own. However, once he added in bites of the warm, gooey cinnamon roll, it took the taste to a whole other level. The bold flavor of the coffee complemented the cinnamon quite well.
So, we have definitely discovered a quick, easy breakfast for my husband to enjoy each morning. he is quite content eating the same thing day after day, so this delicious pairing is one that will be around my house for a while I suspect. Now, I just need to go stock up on the Starbucks Limited Edition Holiday Blend Coffee before my local Sam's Club is all sold out.
