When Desi and I first got engaged, we were both in college. We were actually both working part-time as well. We thought we had all of our future financial plans all thought out. Our plan was that once we got married, Desi would stay in school and finish her degree while I worked full time to support us.

That was the first part of our plan, and it worked. The second part of our plan was for her to get a job with her degree and provide for us while I went back to school. However, that part of the plan fell through, and we both wound up working full-time jobs.

It wasn’t long before we found out that we were expecting. We made the decision for me to continue providing for our family by working full-time. After we had Raileigh, Desi stayed home with her.

I really hadn’t thought that there was an opportunity for me to continue my education because of the many different setbacks. Then, I found out about Ivy Bridge College.

Ivy Bridge College is exactly what I need to complete my associate’s degree and then transfer to a "brand name school." Students who complete their degree at Ivy Bridge College can transfer to schools like Arizona State University, Kansas State University, University of Missouri or about 150 other schools across the nation. I think that being able to transfer to one of these schools is the best feature of the Ivy Bridge College program.

There are also many things that will help me succeed while enrolled at Ivy Bridge College. They offer a free online community where you can connect with fellow students. These are students in the same place as you- parents seeking to continue their education. There is also free tutoring, weekly coaching, and personalized academic advice.

Oh yes-- and the tuition cost is about one-third the cost of most other private schools. Since I will be paying for my continued education, this is definitely a great selling point.

All of this adds up to equal a great opportunity to obtain that elusive degree I have wanted for so long. If you’ve been wanting to return to school as well, then Ivy Bridge College may also be the answer for you.

I am happy to announce that one lucky reader will be able to receive a $1,000 discount on their tuition. Yes-- $1,000! Now who doesn't think that going back to school and finishing a degree is a great idea? I know I think it is great. Good luck to everyone. Enter below.

Please note: To be eligible for the $1,000 discount off tuition at Ivy Bridge College (IBC), the qualifying individuals will need to be degree seeking, enrolled in IBC a minimum of part-time, and new to IBC (specifically, not someone who has already applied to, enrolled in, or requested information from IBC). Classes at Ivy Bridge College Extension are not eligible for the discount. Limit one per person.

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Ivy Bridge College. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating and a discount on classes at Ivy Bridge College.
