The Ardilaun Hotel
The Ardilaun Hotel, or Glenarde House as it was formerly known, was built around 1840 as a townhouse for the Persse Family who had large estates in South Galway. It was first opened as a hotel in 1962 and has been welcoming weddings ever since.
The original character of the old mansion has been preserved through refurbishments over the years and guests have access to top quality facilities including a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
The Ardilaun is licensed to host civil ceremonies and couples have access to the Moposa Wedding Planner online service. Moposa tools include a drag and drop seating planner, Guesttxt to send hundreds of text messages in one go to guests, and a budget planner.
The venue specialise in barbeques which can be enjoyed on the outdoor patio overlooking the gardens.

Galway’s five-star Glenlo Abbey Hotel sits on the banks of lough Corrib among the stunning scenery associated with Connemara.
The wedding venue recently completed an extensive refurbishment. The €2 million revamp saw the main house and 50 bedrooms being completely transformed. Underfloor heating was installed in the 18th century manor house, the interior was painted in light tones, and work was carried out on the gothic style windows and wooden beams.
The venue features a wedding garden with a gazebo that offers panoramic views of the estate; a picture perfect spot for outdoor wedding photos.
A terrace overlooking the walled garden is ideal for outdoor drinks or barbeque at a summer wedding.
